I love the ideas on saving money but I disagree we should consider doing without what they didn't have. I live an off-grid life, combining old crafts like gardening, butchering animals and making do and mend, yet I embrace solar panels to save money and need the internet to run my online business. I quit using liquid detergent and fabric softener years ago! I use just a little washing powders each load and add about 1/3 of cup of borox /washing soda mix. This costs about 1/4th as much as detergent and fabric softener, cleans great and eliminates the gummy build up in fabric.

We are very fortunate to live in a world where much of that information is now at our fingertips. By checking apps, you can save a lot of time and money trying to find the cheapest places to buy items.

Shop multiple stores to buy each stores special/loss leader. Sometimes I just buy 4-8 items per store, use the fast lane and am finished in 7-10 minutes. Since I have 7 stores within 1 miles, I’m done in around one hour.
