Session 1: “Railroad Retirement Board Pension Files at the National Archives,” is by Maureen Hill, archivist at the National Archives at Atlanta. In this presentation Maureen talks about the history of the Railroad Retirement Board and the changes made to the retirement program over time. She discusses the types of records that are found in the pension files that are helpful for genealogy research.
Maureen is an archivist at the National Archives, starting in 2006. She holds a Masters of Library Science degree from Valdosta State University. Maureen has presented on various records at the National Archives including the Tennessee Valley Authority, the Civilian Conservation Corps, the Atlanta Federal Penitentiary, and the Railroad Retirement Board.
