2022 Retirement Plan Contribution Limits




The IRS will allow taxpayers to contribute $20,500 to their 401(k)s, 403(b)s, and most 457 plans in 2022, up from $19,500 in 2021. If you are over the age of 50, the catch up contribution remains the same at $6,500. The IRA contribution limits have not changed, remaining at $6,000 with an additional $1,000 contribution limit if you are over the age of 50.
