In This Video: 3 Costly Roth IRA Mistakes 2020 (Tax Free Millionaire)

I’ve been investing with M1 Finance for almost 3 years now and I highly recommend the brokerage to start investing. I’m using a very common strategy with it comes to my Roth IRA investment, The Lazy 3 Fund Portfolio. This 3 Fund portfolio includes VTI, BND, and VXUS. So far I’ve seen a nice return on my investment and I will continue to invest with this Vanguard ETF strategy.
There are many benefits to opening a Roth IRA and I go over them in this video. Use the links provided to do further research.

Bruce, you have mentioned that you switched your Roth IRA from Vanguard to M1. Could you please do a video on the direct transfer of a Roth IRA account from Vanguard to M1? Thanks.

I wish they had this fractional shares stuff when I was a kid. If you didn't have like 5grand to start no advisor would talk to you. So thankful for these apps now. I use Fidelity.

  4. Murdyy

I started my Roth IRA thru vanguard in january and also HATE their display and everything… How do i transfer like you did? Was there any penalties?

  5. bedheizer

Did you pay any fees when you switched your roth account from vanguard to M1 finance?

Also, now that you're using M1 finance, do they charge you any fees when you buy vanguard ETFs?

Love your videos. New subbie here 🙂

I just open Roth IRA just invest $2000. Which stock etf is good to invest right now ?

Would it be dumb to go all in on ARK? ARKK, ARKG, and ARKX (when it comes out)? I just opened my roth last year and have 12k just sitting here. FINALLY doing my research and ready to invest it, but figuring out if I should go the low risk safe way, or do something a little more high risk like this. I'm 29yo

Hey Bruce! Love the content. I currently have 70% in VTI, 20% in VXUS and 10% in VOO. Should I change the VTI to be 10% or keep it where its at? Also I’m really young for starting a Roth IRA, so should I have any bonds in my portfolio based on your experience?

  9. John 34

So basically invest in all vanguard? What about ARK ETF is it good or you guys think its to risky? I have a 401k through my employer but I'm also trying to double dip with a roth ira

So how does the dividends work? If you can Only invest $6000 a year where do the dividends go?

  11. Medicine Lee

I’ve always wondered how much is in people’s settlement fund though. What’s a good amount to keep in there if anything?

  12. Medicine Lee

Bruh that’s how I’ve been pronouncing “marital” too HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  13. Ingiltereyi Geziyoruz

Hi Carter! How are you doing? I have a question for you. I am a non-us resident and non-us citizen. I would like to open a Roth ira account in the USA. I have a cash account at TD Ameritrade to buy stocks and ETFs. Can a non-us citizen, non-us resident open a Roth ira account to get retired at the age of 59.5 by not paying tax? Kind Regards

Is the “lump sum” at the beginning of the year better than doing “dollar cost averaging?”

  15. zachery

    why not invest in ARKK

  16. Mister Chubbz

Hi, I'm 21 years old and I have a part time job. Do you think I can still do this? I really want to start

  18. HEC892

Did you ever make a video on how to set up Roth IRA?

  19. HEC892

If I do everything right I should be able to invest the 6k a year , I have to be careful tho, wish me luck.

  20. Liberty Davalos

I have a vanguard a non-retirement acc and roth ira. If i max my ira could i invest my non-retirement money. If so how can it affect me.

  21. Devin Smith

    bruh you look about 24

  22. Rodric

Bruce, if I have stocks in a ROTH IRA and decide those stocks arent good anymore; if i sell it and dont take money out, but re-invest it into different stocks is that a taxable event?

  23. raymond kizer

I want to open a Vanguard account but do I need to go through M1 like you do for the ETF's?

  24. kauigirl808

OMG so I have to keep track of my balances to avoid penalties. Scandalous. Retirement accounts to have a max should automatically stop and block your automatic payments.
    Thanks.

  25. Shaikh Shahrukh Muhammad

How do you purchase the fund. Do you time the market and wait for the price to go down? Do you purchase the ETF's periodically or all at once?

  26. Gabino Manzano

I wanna see the vid of all your ways of income

  27. DJFauxFox

Not sure why you don’t do a backdoor Roth…I annually contribute 30k into mine and I just just 3 years ago…gotta play the game, YouTube investor man

  28. Kenny P

I wish I started at 19. My brothers kept telling me to start investing once I got my first job but I never listened. Started at 27 so wasted about 10 years but better late than never!

  29. Devron Gaming

Im 19 and since I have so much time Im going to invest into tech ETFs that have insane gains recently with a smaller position in VOO to be atleast a little conservative

  30. Twinky_Winky

Did you rollover the Vanguard Roth IRA to M1 Finance IRA?

  31. Winniz Azcona

I have both IRA and Roth IRA

  32. Danny Sully

Really good content, keep up the work!
