3 Years from retirement – how should I invest? | Afford Anything Podcast (Audio-Only)

0:00 – Intro

5:23 – Kelsey doesn’t feel comfortable investing in total stock market index funds and would rather invest in ESG funds. How can she tell if she has the necessary $2,000 invested in a company to submit a proposal to participate in a proxy voting? Also, Vanguard has a poor history of supporting shareholder resolutions. What can we do about this?

19:46 – An anonymous listener, nicknamed “Jack from Belgrave,” wants to buy and househack one duplex every year to achieve financial independence and leave his office job within the next three to four years. Is his plan realistic?

29:09 – Dylan and his wife rolled her 401k into a rollover IRA with pre-tax contributions. They’ve continued contributing to this IRA with post-tax contributions. Should they separate the accounts, or can they worry about this when they’re ready to retire?

36:53 – “Alyssa from Belgrave” (another anonymous listener) and her partner earn $150,000 per year after taxes. They’re currently saving 80 percent by living with family. What should they do with their savings?

51:10 – Leigh and her husband are three years away from retirement. They have an extra $50,000 in income this year and plenty of options for where to invest this money. Which one is the best?

Former financial planner Joe Saul-Sehy joins me to answer these questions on today’s episode. Enjoy!

Minimum viable retirement…. I was calling that "working for toys". When you can take the rest of your life off and not run out of money before ssi kicks in at the same amount. At that point you are working for toys like a newer car or a more expensive place to live.

Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.”
It’s a common expression, but did you know it’s also valuable advice when investing? Diversification — a common strategy when building a portfolio — involves investing in a various platform rather than one particular asset class.
Diversification is very important to reduce portfolio risk, and reduce the risk that you might not be able to meet your future goals,” says my account manager Mohamed Youssef Elsherif Senior binary options/forex market Analyst. I'm making so much profits every weeks from my portfolios. I can provide anyone interested with a link to contact for enquiry.

Nice and educative video i must comment, this setup is quite understandable, trading with precipation to perfection although, it's imposible to always be 100% accurate. Making profits in trading is
quite easy ever since l started investing with an expert trader Mr wilson james his amazing strategy and trading signals has really profited me handsomely.I invested $5000 and made a huge profit of $15,500 past few weekswith him as my broker. He's really God sent and also a genius
