    Does taking money out of Roth apply to conversion?? As far as I know, there is a waiting period.

    I buy REIT and BDC shares in my Roth IRA because the dividends these types of companies pay are mostly non-qualified. If I bought the shares in a taxable brokerage account, I would have to pay ordinary income taxes on the dividends, which I prefer not to do. Instead, I hope to build a tax-free steam of income over time for when I retire using my Roth IRA.
