Dear Ms. Senn, you talked about shortages a while ago and I just shook it off thinking, "does she mean food, I've got pleeeennnntty, toys; oh don't even get me started". I am a paper crafter and I made a trip to Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Dollar Tree, Joann's and there was no paper, no stickers nor were there any Christmas trees. Wal-Mart is also out of Christmas trees! Our Wal-Mart also cannot mix paint because they can't get the mixing tint. They can't change the oil on diesel vehicles because they can't get the specialized oil. I just thought that I'd give you're folks a heads up. Sincerely, Ms. Flynn
Amen on term insurance. I am an insurance agent and all that I recommend.
I'm new here and just loved this video! So much great info that we think about, but never really get to it – I'm talking about me. The emergency binder is so important and I need to get busy. I appreciate this video and all the great tips. Thank you
And your costar is adorable!! 🙂
Getting my will notarized hopefully tomorrow, happy to get it done
Hi Lydia, I wanted to say I'm on your email list and I loved your article about keeping a positive and grateful attitude even when you get hit by unexpected expenses. Thanks to you and other youtubers in the frugal/debt-free community who inspire me, I'm heading into the same ballpark as you are now, in that i'm debt free, can save some $$ most months and even if my emergency fund gets wiped out as it did recently i can say, as you did, "At least I had the money to pay for that." One of my favourite frugal mottos is "Gratitude makes what you have enough" and it was wonderful to see your positivity in this article. 🙂
Good information about the Roth IRA.
Thank you ❣️
Thanks for the advice about an emergency binder. I will make that a priority for us for the new year along with setting more specific financial goals. My husband has been using more and more of his banked vacation days; a very fun goal for 2022 would be to use all of them! Many thanks for another great video.
Oh Lord I’m glad this isn’t a drinking game. And 30 seconds you use the word budget or budgeting six times. I don’t think I’d make it to the end of the video conscious. That’s a lot of coffee. Lol
I get paid once a month so I do a monthly budget. I live by the cash envelope system. I keep all receipts and that way I can track where my money went.
Off topic but I’m looking into starting a channel in the upcoming year what video editor do u use that is budget friendly for a beginner?
I had never heard of the spousal IRA! I gotta go google! lol
Calling the description box "show notes" sounds so fancy and delightful.
Thank you so much for all of these financial videos. I am learning so much, but still know I have a lot more to learn. You are very beautiful and encouraging. ❤️
Do not add to retirement until you have used your money to pay off debt. You will be out of debt quicker and have much more $$ and be able to build up that retirement more afterwards. We are proof of it. I Love Dave Ramsey, he has really changed my life with this advice and gotten us out of debt and saving for retirement all of it. Great advice on the red binder. I will be photocopying my will and life insurance etc to put in it along with my other info to bank accounts etc
Love this video Lydia. I’m back to working but this time at a dermatologist office. I just started 2 weeks ago and I was finally ready and I love it. No more hospitals for me
Great video. I'm doing all of this. But I do need to make an emergency plan, and have everything in one place.
My biggest thing financially that I'm doing in December is making my final payment on my last credit card. Officially I will be debt free on 19 December! It's been a long journey but soooooooo worth it.
I’ll add having a legal will/trust is extremely important if you have step parents who never legally adopted or took guardianship, got married after you were an adult, etc. You are not legally connected in a lot of areas and if they want you to have input in medical decisions or run their estate that has to be legally documented and is much easier when they are healthy and of sound mind.
Thank you as always for your information, time and videos!
Setting up my emergency binder before the end of the year, revisiting our insurance to see if we have enough, also resetting my goals for debt pay off and vacations ( yes I take vacations during debt pay off , my kids are at the last of the years were we can all vacation together before life starts happening )
Your last point is me! Over the course of the pandemic, I’ve been sucked into some mindless habits (too much Amazon shopping). I want to get that controlled so that I can still shop a little but that I’m more thoughtful about what I’m buying.
Love this video! I can't believe we're already at the end of 2021!! My plan for 2022 is getting a month ahead on bills so that I can really kill off debt and be debt free by the end of 2022 🙂 I'm so grateful for you and your family! You're SO stinkin encouraging to me as a single mom. Have a wonderful Christmas season with those sweet faces!
Happy Holidays Lydia!!!
This was a much needed video, especially reminding us to review our emergency binder.
