Here are 6 tips on how to get along and bond with your bird! A lot of you have been asking how I have a great relationship with my birds so I thought I’d share how I bonded with them. Bonding with your bird takes lots of time, patience, and attention to your bird’s body language and feelings so that you work at their pace. Birds won’t do anything that they don’t want to do so as long as you work with your bird and listen to them, you’ll form a bond with them in no time!

Another way is when your making your dinner or theirs, let them be apart of it. yesterday i was mad we weren't bonding. Once I let him be apart of making the food last night and today we have a pretty good connection 🙂

Love the video. I really enjoy the content. But I would say if you can possibly take breaks in between key points? That would be great. Verses you talking through the whole video without giving us time to really digest the helpful tips and tricks.

I have resued a male cockatiel, he came from a family with 3 small children. He has a broken wing that has healed but it was never set , also the leg is badly deformed. I'm assuming it was also was broken and never taken care of. He seems to be fine eating and drinking. But very aggressive, starting to let me change out his food and water without attacking me. Any suggestions? Nearest avian is 5 hrs away.

here are my 2 tips that will help you easy with trust gain.
    1. assuming it's a new bird or pair first 2 weeks don't try to interact physically. just talk and whistle from a viewing distance. 3rd and 4th week get them use to your hand inside the cage. it might go upto 6th to 7th week until they get use to your hand.

    2. this tip works only if first tip is successfully executed, which means your bird doesn't get startled by your hand inside the cage.
i know my birds eat early in morning around 7:30-8am so night before at 12am i remove the seed bowls from cage. at 8am i hold seeds in my palm and little spreaded near fingers and slowly take my hand close to them. if they even slightly running away then i stop moving closer and don't go near at all. put the seed bowl back in cage, try next day. repeat the routine. on 3rd day female bird came close took a quick scan took one seed. 20 seconds later she is on my palm eating seeds meanwhile male bird isn't having it. it took 3 weeks doing same routine and then he finally started eating from my hand.

now i pet my birds, after every petting and head scratch i give them a treat.
Gaining trust is important because they did not sleep at all for first 2 days of bringing home and now they sleep like there is no tomorrow
    3. get them use to cage covering. birds LOVEEE privacy when they are most vulnerable and sleep is one of most vulnerable state for birds.

I got a rescued baby chick to foster and i want to keep it indoor. Just worried how to handle the poop. Saw some avian diapers but how often exactly the bird will poop and how to clean the diapers?

My tip is to get a handfed bird, they are pretty friendly and don't bite, it is a lot easier, I got my parrot when he was 15 days old, we spent a lot of time together and now he's 3 months old now, I'm trying to teach him some tricks and it's pretty hard, this video helped me so much thx
