How much percent did u put in?

  3. CincoMariposas

I am invested in a 403b retirement plan, i have been at this job for 7 years. I am a mother of three and would appreciate some advice on making my money work more for me. How much should I contribute? Please help

  4. Sherman Miller

What percentage did you contribute? I’m impressed

  5. Fashion Madame

I think one should contribute to retirement

  6. Alex C.

Are you a teacher? Which 403b company did you use?

  7. ah

I dont make much money though.

  8. Nicholas M.

Thank you. I agree with you.
My wife and I are Dave Ramsey fans, and we are debt free (outside of or mortgage) but during the time we paid off our cars and student loan, we both contributed to our retirement and are happy we did that because we both receive a good employer match.

Hello !!! So I'm a patient care technician in the intensive care unit which I absolutely LOVE but of coarse i domt want to stay in this position forever…. so basically of coarse I know that tecnitians domt make alot of money but what I'm doing now is working full time and contributing 21% of my pay check which is $252 a paycheck which is like $502 a month and hopefully 124,000 by the time I retire but of coarse if I let it sit there and not touch my money it might turn out to he 500,000 Haha maybe ….. I plan not to have kids or a husband… and I want to travel the world now that I have a passport and get an idea of what country I want to retire in. I was thinking overseas like Thailand or Philippines where my money will maximize… but hey I'm 24

  10. Raj Beekie

That statement looks fake. Okay, I am kidding. I agree with you on investing vs paying off low-interest debt. Heck, I think taking out a car loan at 4% is a great idea instead of selling stocks to pay cash. You are doing an awesome job. Compounding over time will serve you well. It is better to have money work for you than you having to work for money.

  11. Simone Thach

Yep, I still contributed to my 401k while paying off debt. Dave Ramsey baby steps are good for people who are not discipline with finance to me it's a good guidelines but not the only way. Everyone situation is different you got to do what's best for you. To me paid off debt is only the beginning once you got the discipline and budget then it's a race to finish line. Learning about investing is where the fun is.

  12. JESSICA NGUYEN

What 403B plan are you with? Axa? Valic?

  13. Dawn Murray

Congrats! What an awesome accomplishment. I agree with you on continuing your contributions. My employer will also match up to 2% and I said the same thing. I can’t leave money sitting on the table. I always roll my raises into my retirement. My husband and I haven’t lived on our raises in over eight years. Thank you so much for sharing your journey. Be blessed

  14. Saving with Mrs Vee

Hello nicole, my husband and i just started the debt_free journey, i agree with what you said about continuing to contibute to your retirement while paying down your debt. We are following dave ramsey also……we will motify it to fit our lives, thank you so much for being honest and transparent in this video. I am a new supporter and invite you to stop by my channel sometime to see our progress, tfs

  15. Lynn Daniel

10% INTEREST! You rocked this task. A prime example of the importance of knowing what you need to do for your family and not just follow someone else's plan. Good work!

  16. The Lyfe of Bigg mike

Hey nicole! I saw your video because I am NEW when it comes Future Life decisions and I am planning on started a 403b but I dont wanna get screwed over and want to know all the Right things to do to make my money GROW! Also,I have some debt but can I use some my 403b to make that dissapear quicker???

  17. StaceeeM

yes continue to contribute to retirement especially if you're a little older. Im in my 40's and my debt may take at least 3 years to get paid off if not longer.

  18. Rebecca's Quest to FIRE

Yessssss I LOVE IT!! I am o my contributing enough to get the match right now because of my consumer debt, but I can’t WAIT to be able to max my retirement once I’m debt free. In fact I touched on this a little bit in my latest video. You are killing it! So inspiring for me!

  19. MsMali

Congratulations to you, and I'm so glad you made this video. Please continue to offer more advice on your channel!

  20. Fun and Budget with Tinesha Davis

I definitely invested in my retirement accounts while paying off debt. When employers match a percentage…it just didn't make sense not to.

  21. Sheranda Lockwood

I have been contributing to my retirement plan since I started working.  It is insane to stop investing in that while paying off debt.

  22. Aly MJ

I kept contributing to retirement whilst paying down debt. In Australia there is no employer match but there is a mandatory 9.5% minimum that your employer is required to contribute on your behalf from your pretax income. Then you can (and I did/do) choose to top up beyond that 9.5% to a maximum of $25,000 per year (although so far Im still a ways off meeting that max – goals!). Failing to invest for the future is a recipe for disaster in my opinion and every year you wait costs you so much in lost opportunity and lost compounding interest. Definitely disagree with DR on this topic!

  23. Kari James

you rocked it!!! and you are spot on about the bs, everyone needs to do whats right for them. we aren't cookie cutters
