I’m getting SSD due to a injury. I’ve been married for 10 yrs and my husband retired at 65 yrs. We are no longer together. What am I entitled to regarding his social security
I am 61 and want to file for my ss benefit next year after I turn 62. I am divorced, was married almost 18 years and I have not remarried. I understand that if my ex-husband died I can apply for survivor benefits. I have heard that I would get the full amount of the ss benefit he was receiving at the time of his death, regardless that I filed at age 62. But what if my ex-husband died before he filed for social security or died before he even turned turned age 62 (he is younger than me), in that case what would my survivor benefit be calculated on?
40 year olds have to wait 20 years if spouse dies

Can you get willows if you on SSDI
I retired at 62 and my benefits are 1600 a month.. my wife is still working..her monthly benefit as of now is over 900 a month. does she file for her own benefits when it is time to file or file spousal?
Can you please help me? I'm getting ready for a Hearing and I have been going through the process since my husband died November 12 th 2020 I am already disabled I just turned 50 in December of last year. I have a disability mentally and I'm already disabled and I only receive $481.00 a month. trying to apply for surviving spouse and my retirement benefits no answer natl or local office phone# anyone working in SSA?
What is the survivor benefit if the older and higher earner waits until 70 to receive their SS benefit with the max credits (assume $3800) then goes on to live until 75 and passes. What amount does the survivor spouse who is 3 years younger or 72 and the less earner who drew their FRA benefit which amounted to $1500.
What if spouse or ex spouse is younger and is collecting SSDI?
I’m a widow am I eligible for spouse benifics even if we were only married 7yrs
I file for SS with FLA $3500 when my wife is 65. She started collecting SS at 62 and receives $800. spousal benefit is 1/2 x 3500 = $1750 multiplied by 83.33% (at age 65), or 1750 x.8333 = $1458. Then, Spousal + Own is 1458 + 800 = $2258, but max is $1500. Is this correct? Should max FLA be based off 1/2FLA or $1500?
Hi 10 yrs ago. I got disabled. And on SSDI. Then after 5 yrs, my husband passed away. And claimed his, coz more money than mine. Now I am 66, it switched into Survival benefits. So when I turn into 67 do I get more benefits?
I have a question if that's okay I was talking to social security my husband for the last 33 1/2 years just passed away January 4th 2022 and I get survivors benefits but I have an ex-husband also who I was married to for over 20 years and he is collecting retirement benefits the lady from social security told me that since I wasn't born in 1954 but I was born in 1957 that I would not be able to collect spousal support from my ex-husband he was born in 1952 and I would be eligible for benefits at the age of 66 but not from my husband I'm sorry ex-husband and I didn't understand that could you elaborate on that because I didn't know there was any kind of stipulation whenever it came to that although I don't have social security on my own because in 1996 was my last job and I raised my grandson and also raised some other grandchildren so I don't have it in there but like I said I wanted to see if I can get a better income with my ex-husband? Thank you
I’m divorced and 60 years old at what age can I apply and get 50% of her Social Security thank you
Basically : You're taking a vow of poverty. Social Security is a well engineered screw job.
80 year olds are working at Stop and Shop.
All while our "president" gives billions of OUR dollars away.
Our soldiers didn't die and WE didn't work over half a century just to be rewarded with This garbage.
it would be nice if you could stick to one topic at a time than going back and forth. Gets confusing please

Everyone says you lose survival benefits on your first husband if you remarry before 60 but what happens if your second husband passes away. Can you draw Social Security survivor benefits on your first husband if he made more. You are no longer married so can you choose which survival benefits you can take on which husband or can you switch toone or another

My spouse passed away at 61. She was on disability SS. I'm 60. Can I draw a survivor benefit on the amount she was getting as disabled? Or will it be on her amount at 67?

Can you explain the ins and outs of continuing to work while collecting survivors benefits. Is there a limit per month you could make and still collect benefits . If a person collects at under FRA. Do they go by monthly or yearly earnings .
Hi, can I ask you one more question? Assuming my wife (who has no social benefits on her own) and I are both 67 today, I am trying to delay my benefit until 70 (so I can increase my benefit by 24%).
Can my wife apply for her spousal benefit today at 67? Someone told me she can’t apply for spousal benefits unless I am already apply receiving my own benefits, which I am delaying to 70 because I want to delay 3 more years to get 24% more. What do I do then? Do I have to apply for my benefits, so my wife can receive her spousal benefit while I am giving up the 24 % more payments by waiting until 70?
