My name is David Pere, I am an active duty Marine, and have realized that service members and the working class use the phrase “I don’t get paid enough” entirely too often. The reality is that most often our financial situation is self-inflicted. After having success with real estate investing, I started From Military to Millionaire to teach personal finance and real estate investing to service members and the working class. As a result, I have helped many of my readers increase their savings gap, and increase their chances of achieving financial freedom!

How would you position yourself today given the state of things? Assuming letting it stay for 20 years

Great video, may you discuss TSP interfund transfers? Will a interfund transfer from TSP G fund to TSP C fund cause penalty fees or an additional tax event by the IRS or TSP?

Not seeing my original comment, so I'm deciding to write another. First, thank you for the video and all the content you share. I am definitely finding this helpful. My question is: Does being active duty for 20 years impact the TSP in anyway? I've heard some indicate that it does. If so, could you provide that information?

I'm about to transfer my G fund over to C and bump up contributions, since we are basically below everything I contributed last year with the recent dip in the market. Crazy how much we struggle with the TSP, luckily you and others are passing on the word. I tell my subordinates all the time, and make sure they are using TSP correctly… sucks all I had was a TSP pamphlet that you slide up to see how much you could make at retirement age, if you contribute, but not how/what to put the money in.

I’m coming up on 2 years in and my first full year in I did 9% contribution + 1% match with 100% of it the L2060 fund because I knew I was going be in a very hectic first year and didn’t know if I’d have a lot of time to pay a ton of attention to my TSP. 2021 I made 18.18% return on investment with 100% going into L2060. I’m very hesitant to move my allocations to a more 65/35 C/S fund split because of how well I did with L2060 and I’ll be on deployment coming up shortly and know I won’t be able to access my account often at all. Should I just let it ride being at 18.18% is an amazing return or should I move to a more aggressively
