VTIAX Emerging Market Percentage: when you look at Regions for a fund, should you not include Africa and Latin America as Emerging Markets? That would make VTIAX EM %age about 22%

Rob, I am little less than 3 years out of retiring, 6 months ago I was in a very anxious place, then I found your utube channel and you helped me out, thank you for lowering my anxiety to a minimum level… I am very grateful…

Furthermore the covered call etf is not very tax efficient 12% yield thats dividend income so its going to get taxed regardless of the fact that the ETF is also down 15% covered call etf is no different than trying to time the market its a big no from me

Many foreign REITs maybe classified as PFICs so if you own them directly you may have to consider tax elections and additional forms to be completed with your tax return – Form 8621

For those who have an inherited IRÁ and need to take RMD and not making contributions what to do?

  10. Hub Location Sound // Jim Keaney

Hi Rob, fan of your show and coincidentally I’m an audio nerd. Just fyi: The XLR cable on your SM7b is not fully plugged in. That could be a show stopper if it got bumped a hair more 😉 Also the SM7B is a cardioid (ie. Directional) mic which is great at rejecting unwanted sounds to the sides/rear (like reverberant room sound, kids, outside traffic) but that mic truly excels at a close proximity to the mouth, so cozy on up if you’re going for that podcast/radio vibe.

Always great content from Rob Berger! Thank you!!!

  14. Keeping It Super Simple

@1:26:22 the weakness of these tools is there is no way to simulate private investments such as private lending, syndicate mortgages, private reits. These sorts of investments are lump sums investments of 25-50K that are locked in for 3-5Yrs and yields a 15-20% annualized return. If you have several coming back at different periods of time, there is no way to enter these sorts of deals into New Retirement. What I'm saying is that these sorts of investments juice up our total portfolio returns but they come back at different points of time.

Bob, you could point out that the stock market returns were too much for two years.

  16. Philip Damask

Bob, the bond market had no where to go but down as interest rates were at arbitrary lows caused by government easy money.

  17. Raymond Picard Jr

    Hello Mr. Berger,
My name is Raymond Picard Jr. I have been investing in the stock market for roughly 2yrs now. I really appreciate your channel and your time. I grew up poor and investing was not a topic of discussion. Sports and Music was the “PUSH” growing up.

My question to you is; do you have a course or better yet a payment structure where you look at individual accounts like mine. I have three accounts with M1 Finance; A Roth & two individual dividend accounts. I understand that this will not be financial advice but your mentions will be appreciated. I basically want to maximize my Roth and combine the two dividend accounts into 1.

Thank you for your time and efforts.

    Raymond

Thanks for the POD cast. I love your perspective on investing and the stock market. I have 10 to 12 years until retirement and I am 100% stocks in the accumulation phase. I know its good for me but I still get a worried feeling at times. I am 70% US and 30% International. Diversified the best I can in my 401K Roth and traditional. I am crossing my fingers for a couple more bad years and a nice recovery in 10 years.
