How To Invest In A Vanguard Roth IRA For Beginners 2020 (Tax Free Millionaire)
In this video I will use the vanguard app to invest in my Roth IRA. We will look at my vanguard Roth IRA portfolio and the index fund that is inside of it. Vanguard index funds are a great way to fund your Roth IRA and set yourself on a course to becoming a tax free millionaire. This can be done because the Roth IRA is a tax advantage retirement account that grows tax free over time. It has no RMD’s and can be used for a first time home purchase as well as qualified education.

Hi. Sr. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT VFIAX IN THE ROTH IRA. THANK YOU
I wish vanguards would upgrade their app
Bruh. So I opened my Roth IRA through Vanguard three years ago and have been maxing it out each year. Turns out all my funds have been sitting in the Federal Money Market account…. Got a whole $1.20 in returns. Woohoo! Better to learn now than never I suppose.
It looks like this is the iOS app. I'm on Android and my app doesn't look like this. Going to try and figure out how to actually invest this money on Vanguard's website. At least I have 3 years of contributions to invest with.
Thanks for the video
As for vanguard ira what are your investment options? Love to mix with stocks , commodity, bond. Final question as for the fees does it depend on your investment options? If you choose only stocks u will get one exp ratio compared with choosing other investment options are i right
I have a bank Roth IRA can I transfer my Roth IRA money to vanguard? Thanks
Hi guys I'm new to investing and just opened my vanguard ira account. The funds just transferred over recently and the portfolio shows 100% in Short term reserves, but I don't recall selecting that. I did ended up choosing my invest target which has not reached. Can someone clarify how this works? Are funds automatically put into Short term reserves? And how long does it take to reach target?
should i move all my ira to roth ira?
I’m 29 years old and I don’t have a 401,402k, only a savings. Is vanguard good for beginners?
Hi Brad! So if you can only invest $6k max each year to ROTH does that mean thats the max you can put in VSTAX?? Or once you max it out do you put more towards VSTAX under another brokerage account like Fidelity, etc?
Thank you so much Brad. I am just starting my adventure with my Roth IRA and am lost. I am happy to find your channel as I figure this out!! New subscriber!
Hi I am new to this. My question is I put 70 into the Federal money market fund. Is there anyway to get that money out to by let’s say a High yield, low volatility, or SPhd? Do I keep adding money into that until I have enough to buy a share of VTSX first? It’s saying I don’t have enough funds, the one I wanted to buy is showing it’s 43$ a share, but it’s saying I don’t have sufficient funds available? Is that money 70 just stuck there now lol? Or can I move it back into a brokerage account? HELP PLEASE, I’m a first timer!
How do u get 403 B and 457?
When investing in VTSAX, it says there is a $3,000 investment minimum so do I need to invest $3,000 as my first investment? I just turned 18 and barely have more than $3,000
Hey I just turned 18 last month and just started a vanguard retirement account, I’m planning to contribute $500 a month for the ROTH IRA.
I had my playback speed on 1.5x for some reason, I was wondering why this guy sounded like he was on crack lol. Thanks for the help, great video.
@Brad Finn Hello Brad, i just opened my Vanguard Roth IRA account yesterday (5/4/2021) and there's a box for year 2020 contribution amount below the 2021 contribution amount option/box for opening the account or an initial investment. I contributed $5,000. in the 2021 contribution option box. My checking account allows me to transfer money only $5,000 per day.
Can I changed the $5000 contribution to $6,000 once my application is accepted? I just typed $5k contribution for 2021 because they might deny my application if Vanguard is unable to collect/transfer the $6,000 in one time process.
My second question is, can I still contribute for 2020 by editing my application? I already submitted my application yesterday though. Thank you in advance for your reply. Have a great day!
A friend recommended Vanguard to me .
THANK YOU SO MUCH! This was the best video I have seen for helping with a Roth IRA! I really appreciate it!
what do u invest in tho
Great video!
Thank you for sharing.
Which Vanguard app are you using? That one looks so clean and easy to read! Or does it differ for a brokerage/personal IRA account versus an Employee sponsored 401k?
Hi Brad. I have some money in a brokerage account through Vanguard. I want to open a Roth IRA and move my brokerage monies into the Roth IRA. Is that possible? Thanks.
I make too much to contribute to roth so I'm doing the backdoor. I've already checked, it wouldn't move me into a higher tax bracket. Would you suggest every contribution I make to the traditional that I roll it over? And then just withhold the extra amount on my paycheck to cover it?
Can u take ur contributions out and put them back in or no
Why do you max your 403b first? Is that a better retirement plan? I'm considering rolling over my 403b into an ira Roth.
Thanks for the video!
Great video bro thanks for the info!!
I already max out for 2020 in my Rollover IRA. I don’t have Roth IRA, but planning to open it now.
Am I allowed to max out my new Roth IRA for 2020 in addition to Rollover IRA?
Thanks.
