God’s Faithfulness Explored in the Character of God Series’ Episode 6

The word emet is a common word used to describe God in the Bible. It can be translated as “faithfulness” or “truth.” So when the authors say that God is “full of emet,” they are saying that he is trustworthy and faithful—we can trust him. But trusting isn’t always an easy thing. In this video, we look at why we can trust that God is full of emet.

In this episode of the Faithful • Character of God Series, we delve into the concept of God’s faithfulness. Throughout the Bible, God’s faithfulness is not only repeatedly mentioned but also consistently demonstrated through His actions towards His people.

The episode begins by exploring the definition of faithfulness. It is not just about being reliable or dependable; faithfulness goes beyond that. It is about keeping one’s promises, being trustworthy, and standing firm in love and devotion. God exemplifies all these qualities, as He never fails to fulfill His promises and remains steadfast in His love for His people.

The episode delves into various instances in the Bible where God’s faithfulness is showcased. Starting with the story of Abraham and Sarah, we see how God fulfilled His promise to give them a son, despite their old age. This demonstrates that God is faithful even when circumstances seem impossible. He is not limited by our limitations, and His faithfulness extends beyond our understanding.

Moving on, the episode explores the story of Joseph. Despite the trials and tribulations he faced, God remained faithful to him. Joseph’s story teaches us that even in our darkest moments, God’s faithfulness shines through. He has a bigger plan for us, and He works behind the scenes, orchestrating everything for our ultimate good.

Furthermore, the episode focuses on the story of the Israelites’ exodus from Egypt. God’s faithfulness is evident in the numerous miracles He performed to set His people free. From parting the Red Sea to providing manna in the wilderness, God ensured that His promises were fulfilled and that His people were taken care of.

The episode also emphasizes that God’s faithfulness is not limited to the people of the past; it extends to us today. Just as He was faithful to Abraham, Joseph, and the Israelites, He remains faithful to us. We can rely on Him in times of trouble, knowing that He will never leave us nor forsake us.

The Faithful • Character of God Series (Episode 6) beautifully captures the essence of God’s faithfulness. It reminds us that our Heavenly Father is unwavering in His promises, reliable in His love, and steadfast in His devotion towards us. This episode serves as a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness throughout history and motivates us to trust Him even in the midst of uncertainty.

In conclusion, Episode 6 of the Faithful • Character of God Series explores the concept of God’s faithfulness through various stories in the Bible. 2:33 I think it is misleading because with Joshua's leading they lived in the promise land and after around 400 years God used David to "defend the promise land"

Thank you for making these videos. I appreciate the time taken to research the scriptures and Hebrews word meanings. Through this narrative many Hebrew words are introduced and learned just by the sheer number of times they are used. What a great teaching tool!

God is faithful enough to have somehow brought me to this series on His character when He knew I was sincerely struggling with understanding who He is in light of the things that have happened in my life to show me the truth of His faithful love towards me. I’m so humbled by His goodness and mercy towards me. Glory to His eternal name

What does this mean for us in our lives? In what situations do I trust Him? If he's given me clear instructions to do something and I fully understand the instructions are from God, yes faithfulness is understood. Still, what about day to day? What are his promises he'll stay faithful to? I wan to be confident but fear every move I make is like walking on egg shells: "Is this in God's will" all the time is in my head – in different statements. Down to the smallest things. Talking to a girl, looking in a specific direction, stepping left or right, breathing in a moment or holding my breath, it feels so critical and not the freedom I feel He is – my understanding isn't where He is.

In this episode you spoke about Abraham's faith to God. However, God seemed to be the faithful one, giving Abraham and Sarah courage when they lost faith and even made mistakes (sending Ishmael and his mother away).
