Is Rachel Zegler’s Snow White a Sign of Disney’s Decline?

Rachel Zegler is Snow White for the Disney live action remake of Snow White animation. But as Rachel Zegler has not had good press since, other versions of Snow White are entering the ring as competition. Disney+ has had series like Loki, Secret Invasion, Willow and She-Hulk but they never leave much of an impression. Are all these cases related? And can Disney turn their IP’s around before celebrities like Rachel Zegler do permanent damage to PR? Is Snow White worth watching?

It was recently announced that Rachel Zegler has been cast as Snow White in Disney’s live-action adaptation of the classic fairytale. While this news might excite some Disney fans, for many, it serves as a stark reminder of the company’s lack of originality and reliance on rehashing old stories.

Disney has a long history of creating timeless animated classics, with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs being the first full-length animated feature film the company ever produced. However, in recent years, Disney has been on a mission to capitalize on nostalgia by remaking their classic animated films into live-action versions. From The Lion King to Aladdin, Disney seems to be cashing in on the success of their original works rather than investing in new and original storytelling.

The casting of Rachel Zegler, an up-and-coming actress known for her role in the acclaimed film West Side Story, as Snow White is just the latest symptom of Disney’s creative stagnation. Instead of taking risks and creating new and original content, Disney is content with recycling the same stories over and over again.

This lack of creativity is not only disappointing but also dangerous for the future of storytelling in the entertainment industry. By continuing to rely on their existing intellectual property, Disney is sending a message to audiences that new and original stories are not worth investing in. This is a dangerous mindset that stifles the creativity and innovation of up-and-coming writers, directors, and actors.

Furthermore, Disney’s live-action remakes have been hit or miss in terms of critical and audience reception. While some have been box office successes, many have been criticized for being unnecessary and lacking the magic of the original animated films. This begs the question: Is Disney’s obsession with rehashing old stories worth the risk of tarnishing the legacy of these beloved classics?

As fans eagerly await the release of yet another live-action remake, it’s important to reflect on the impact of Disney’s reliance on nostalgia and the potential consequences it may have on the future of storytelling. Disney has the power and resources to support new and original voices, yet they seem to be content with reimagining the same stories over and over again.

The casting of Rachel Zegler as Snow White serves as a grim reminder of Disney’s lack of creativity and innovation. It’s a symptom of the company’s creative death, as they continue down the path of recycling old stories instead of investing in the future of storytelling. Let’s hope that Disney will soon realize the error of their ways and start prioritizing new and original content that will capture the hearts of audiences for years to come.

Rachel Zegler's Snow White turned into a complete disaster a few months ago due to her interviews. But this has prompted other companies to see weakness within the Disney brand and decide to take advantage of the gap in the market, setting themselves up as competition. But is Rachel Zegler and Snow White the exception, or the rule? Is Snow White simply a symptom of a deep rooted problem at the core of the Disney company, and if so, can Disney even fix this problem? Do they even want to? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching 🙂

In case it wasn't obvious, the "competition" spin of this story everywhere is quite clearly just Daily Wire paying creators to sell their own products.

I hate dumb Hollywood stuff, but the Daily Wire is no better, they're run by weird cringey right wingers that have revealed lately they're honestly just as bad.

if we get feminazis to write stories all they will be is a woman is strong woman is independent a white man is evil in all of them… snow white is a story done many years ago. now these people ned to write a new story and to just 1 100s. I'm sure some stories will be romantic and some will be not

So i'm going to check out Zegler's Snow White before i fully judge the movie, but her behaviour was really annoying and I'm hoping her views on Snow White aren't too much of the movie. I don't always agree with everyone Brett says but I'd be interested in seeing her Snow White as its based on the Grimm's fairy tale.
Look i don't mind changes from the source material, as long as you're also respecting the material for what it is.
I also don't really appreciate Disney trying to lie about the numbers to make some shows look good and others look awful as a result when they actually did pretty well.
I think that it's good to hire diversity for a range of views, but I also believe in hiring people who are competent. I think it's totally possible to do both at the same time.

Why did you put Bret Cooper on the title? She’s not the new Snow White.

Zegler will be known more for being an obnoxious little troll than for any movie she's ever been in.
