I max out my traditional TSP and my Roth IRA with Fidelity. Remaining funds goes to our kids 529, our mortgage then our vacation fund

I am about two years away from maxing out my contributions to the TSP…for my situation I’ve taken the following steps

    (1) Traditional IRA
    (2) Brokerage Account (supplemental retirement/Long term care)

Great video. I have a question. Can I see what mutual funds are available without transferring 10k from my tsp?

I’m maxing out my tsp and looking into investing more. Thank you for this video. Please tell us more.

Can you explain the term "max out a TSP"?

Why is the TSP site so shitty? I cant log in and they keep supposedly sending me emails with links to change my log in info, but I never receive an email and the phone number they list on the site is a spam 1-877 number with tons of ads

I always consider putting Roth $ into TSP as allowing me to beat the max contribution, cause I consider the tax I pay on it as part of the contribution. I estimated that was $33k this year, instead of $27l

I'm 61 and will retire in 1-4 years. I max out my Roth TSP and also put money in a brokerage account and a Roth IRA. You didn't mention that you can put money in a Roth IRA if you make over the limit by doing a back door Roth contribution. That's what I do every year. Thanks for another good video.

Great video. Ideally, I think it's wise to consider asset location as you approach retirement – tax deferred (traditional), tax free (Roth), and taxable brokerage account.

Thank you for the video. Did not know brokerage account earnings are taxed as capital gains!

And when you say "maxing out your TSP", you are referring to the contribution limit. Just stating for anyone new.

    Excellent motivational video.

brokerage, ok… but ETFs not mutual funds for best tax advantages

I've been blessed to have been able to max my TSP since 2018 (4 years). I've also maxed out my roth ira as well since I was 16.

Not the best returns, but consider high yield saving accounts and setting up a CD ladder.

Another cool thing you can do once you max your TSP, is you can contribute something like $50K more if you are deployed to a tax free zone.
