If I'm in a low tax bracket, wouldn't it make more sense to roll over a smaller portion into the roth, rather than pay the rich-man's tax rate?
So I can move my 401K to a Roth IRA simply by paying the tax without the 10% penalty of just taking the money directly from the 401K
And then Since I already payed taxes on the move I can withdraw it at my convince from the Roth without taxes and penalties as long as I don’t take the market gains that the original amount has build up?
Is it just me or does this dude look like mark dacascos

Personally I'd rather rollover a 401k to a Gold backed IRA (Tax Free).
Is this the same for a 403b?
is there still the 6500 / 5500 cap on it?
I would like to pay of my mortgage and credit card debt with my 401k rollover money.
I am 61 and will likely not be making as much money in my next job.
I will put the balance in an Annuity Roth.
