ARCTIC BLAST! With Temperatures Of 78 Degrees Below Normal – I Hope You’re Ready
If you thought this winter couldn’t get any colder, think again. A polar vortex is bringing an Arctic blast to parts of the United States, with temperatures plummeting to 78 degrees below normal. This extreme cold snap is no joke, and it’s important to take the necessary precautions to stay safe and warm during this frigid weather.
The term “polar vortex” may sound like something out of a science fiction movie, but it’s a real weather phenomenon that occurs when a strong low-pressure system pushes the jet stream southward, bringing frigid air from the polar regions. This can result in bone-chilling temperatures and dangerous wind chills, creating hazardous conditions for anyone caught in its path.
The Arctic blast is expected to affect much of the central and eastern United States, including states such as Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois. Cities like Chicago, Minneapolis, and Des Moines are bracing for subzero temperatures and gusty winds, making it feel even colder than it actually is.
So, what can you do to prepare for this extreme cold weather? Here are a few tips to help you stay safe and warm during the Arctic blast:
1. Dress in layers: Wearing multiple layers of clothing can help trap heat close to your body and keep you insulated from the cold. Start with a moisture-wicking base layer, add a warm insulating layer, and top it off with a windproof and waterproof outer layer.
2. Protect your extremities: Frostbite can occur within minutes in these frigid temperatures, so be sure to wear a hat, gloves, and insulated boots to prevent heat loss from your head, hands, and feet.
3. Stay indoors if possible: If you can avoid going outside during the Arctic blast, do so. Exposure to extreme cold can be dangerous, so it’s best to stay indoors where it’s warm and safe.
4. Keep an eye on the forecast: Stay informed about the weather conditions in your area and listen to local authorities for any updates or advisories. It’s important to be aware of any potential hazards or emergency situations that may arise.
5. Prepare your home: Make sure your home is properly insulated and heated to withstand the extreme cold. Check your heating system, seal any drafts, and stock up on emergency supplies such as food, water, and blankets.
The Arctic blast with temperatures of 78 degrees below normal is no ordinary cold front. It’s a serious weather event that requires careful preparation and vigilance. By taking the necessary precautions and staying informed, you can stay safe and warm during this frigid weather. Stay warm, stay safe, and stay prepared.

Trump covid virus
Thanks Rudy! We're doing well in North Texas, checking on our neighbors and so far, no loss of power. My kids have their sleeping bags on the bed and after this, buying one to have in my car at all times! Lesson learned! God bless and stay prayed and armored up! Love your neighbor as yourself! Your advice is very valuable, thanks for the reminder about wool blankets! I had a friend who did that while working in the National Parks. You can string a rope across the room, throw blanket over it to insulate, even if you don't have a tent or put the rope over your bed as well, your up off the floor. Also, rugs or blankets over tile floors.
If the Arctic Blast happens as ‘Planned’?
Rudy you are such a good person.
I just got off the phone with a girl in Texas and she said it was one degree out in Texas. They expect the temperature to stay that way for at least 90 hours
the Tx government says they are prepared. But my sister who lives there said there’s no wind for the wind turbines
I wish I could afford backup! All I have is sleeping bags for me and my 10 year old and her play tent in the case of the light goes out! Because here in Texas we always lose power! I can’t afford a power backup! Anyone wants to donate an old one! Please! I’m on SSD not enough to buy one!
-55 wind chill here this morning in Alberta,Canada…..
It’s cold in Alaska? Who knew?
Very cold in Northern Europe too but we are use to it
Thank You
I remember when it was -40 with wind -80. We have old house. The wind kept the house cold. I was in kitchen in my coat sitting in front of a big gas stove door open and still cold. Couldn't get warm!!
Our low for Tuesday is 29°. I live in maryland mid Atlantic. 1hr fromm philedelphia and 1hr fro baltimore. Everyone stay safe.
I live in Alaska. Has been a weird mild winter. Not much snow either
Not speaking for any other state but SoCal temps show next 10 days will go up to 71 degrees. I’ll say right now we’re complaining because we’re cold right now. Won’t say what our temps are but we do complain when it gets a little brisk.
If you have an elderly neighbor check on them ! A lot of them are scared to turn the heater up (or don't have another source of heat) because they are on fixed income and most will say they are fine even if they ain't.
Just think how cold it'd be if we didnt have global warming. Haha, this whole global warming thing is a total joke! We should hope there is such a thing as global warming and not another ice age coming.
Keep on saving lives. We love you. ❤
Here in Missouri I just saw a thread that says our temperatures (both highs and lows) are and will be for the next several days, lower than Anchorage Alaska! We are freeeeezing here.
This reminds me of the weather cycle in the 60s and 70s, I’m a child who remembers the 1978 blizzard in Indiana
I have propane tanks, and a little buddy heater, in case needed. I have tents, sleeping bags, lamps, and bought myself a little ecoflow river for X-mas. The only gift I got, and I am happy with it. It ran my sisters c-pap for 8.5 hours, so it will be there in an emergency also. I live in snow country, raised on the side of a mountain, off grid. I my not like it, but I can do it if needed. lol
I live in Alaskan and I personally Camped out at -30 anything is possible if you use a little common sense and I probably got 10 to 15 years on you
Stay warm and safe!
