[APPL] Why does Apple’s stock price not shoot up the next day after anticipated major announcements like the iPhone 14 launch event?

I am a newbie, so detailed explanations are appreciated.

Case in point:

On Sept. 7, Apple introduced its third-generation 5G smartphone, the iPhone 14 series. It also debuted its Apple Watch Series 8 smartwatches and second-generation AirPods Pro wireless earbuds. Apple stock rose 0.9% on the news.

    priced in

    Cuz it’s not a surprise

Stock prices don’t magically go up despite all the cheerleading on CNBC. Someone has to actually buy at the higher price.

People think it will go up Sep 8 so they buy on Sep 7 in anticipation. People know there will be people buying on Sep 7 so they buy on Sep 6 in anticipation. And so on and so forth, until it’s “priced in” and actually there’s no one left with money to buy it on Sep 8

Buy the rumor and sell the news

My best autist guess is that the stock price had already baked in the inevitable release of a new iPhone etc

    Were in a bear market

    Key word: “anticipated”

Unless something crazy good that was UNEXPECTED gets announced, it’s already been priced into the stock.

It’s because the hedge funds are conspiring with the New World Order. Ask Matt Kohrs.

A better question is how your account is 4 years old and you know This much. Wtf you been doing since 2019 homie

Mature market. Apple is fighting to maintain sales figures, not growth.

Lmao HORY FUK IPHON 14!!!! Apple to the moon! Dude just think about it a little bit. Like asking why McDonald’s isn’t on a bull run cuz of the seasonal mc rib sandwich. (Personal belief they clean the grills once a year, and this is how they get those rectangles of sludge for that mcrib.) Iphone/mctrash first release, yah run deserved. 14 iterations later, who really gives a fuck? Very few.

How many people do you know that own an iPhone 14?

Probably the stock price from apple will react when starlink goes public.

We’ve gotten past the phase of the next IPhone being some big new thing. Upgrading from 10 to 14 isn’t the same as upgrading from 1 to 4. That’s before you get into the thousand dollar costs that are rapidly making IPhone unaffordable for the majority of the country.

Yeah it’s not a surprise or anything. Now when they announce their headset stock might jump some then. But really stocks go up because of optimism in the near term, long term they go up because the business is good and the earn a nice profit.

You got to expect new models coming out periodically.

Also, it’s a big company to move.

iPhone 14 could be awesome but could also suck

Apple release a new iPhone every year… hardly breaking news
