Christmas Cake in the Air Fryer: A Delicious and Easy Holiday Treat

Christmas is a time for delicious food and festive treats, and what better way to celebrate the holiday season than with a traditional Christmas cake? If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to make a delicious Christmas cake, then look no further than your trusty air fryer.

The air fryer is a great kitchen tool that can be used to cook a wide variety of dishes, and it’s perfect for making a moist and flavorful Christmas cake. Using the air fryer to make your Christmas cake is a great way to save time and energy, and it’s also a convenient option if you don’t have access to an oven.

To make a Christmas cake in the air fryer, you’ll need a few simple ingredients including flour, sugar, butter, eggs, dried fruits, nuts, and a splash of brandy or rum for that traditional festive flavor. You’ll also need a suitable cake tin that fits into your air fryer basket. Once you have all your ingredients, it’s time to get started.

Start by creaming the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Then, gradually beat in the eggs one at a time. Next, fold in the flour, dried fruits, and nuts, and mix until everything is well combined. Finally, pour the batter into your cake tin and smooth the top with a spatula.

Now it’s time to preheat your air fryer. Set the temperature to 320°F and allow it to preheat for a few minutes. Once the air fryer is ready, carefully place the cake tin inside the air fryer basket. Cook the cake for about 40-45 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.

Once your Christmas cake is cooked, carefully remove it from the air fryer and allow it to cool in the tin for a few minutes. Then, transfer the cake to a wire rack to cool completely. Once the cake has cooled, you can decorate it with a dusting of powdered sugar or a drizzle of icing for an extra festive touch.

The result is a beautifully moist and flavorful Christmas cake that is sure to impress your family and friends. The air fryer does an excellent job of baking the cake evenly and quickly, and the result is just as delicious as a traditional oven-baked Christmas cake.

So, if you’re looking for a quick and easy way to make a tasty Christmas cake this holiday season, why not give the air fryer a try? With minimal effort and maximum flavor, this festive treat is sure to be a hit with everyone at your Christmas gathering. Happy baking and Merry Christmas!

Cooking a cake like a dense christmas cake is going to be far more fiddly than cooking it in a conventional oven. For a start, it cooks completely differently. In an air fryer, it cooks from the outside in so its harder to get the middle cooked without the outer being over cooked. A ring pan will be more successful as it allows the heat to reach the middle of the cake. You might have had better luck with a cake half the depth of the one you made. I found cakes like banana and carrot tricky as well. Rather than tent the whole cake, tenting the outer edge would slow down the cooking of it yet allow heat into the middle.

Perfect cake, thank you, you have inspired to give it a go. X

You could off used the spare mix instead of over filling the tin, to make smaller xmas cakes and bake in small ramekin tins/dishes, 3 hours for a 7inch cake is a long time, you will need to keep feeding it with more brandy to keep it moist.

    FYI
I don’t like the kitchenaid mixer at Costco. I have the Kitchenaid with a tilt head. I love it.

We made ours the other night, the traditional way – no electric whisk and lots of elbow grease! We're now at the happy stage of feeding it whiskey once a week until Dec 25th

Well done, Wendy! That looks delicious. Turned out really well.

Hi Graham and Wendy, well it looks lovely and it is a very deep cake. I don't think i would have put all the mixture into one cake. You could have probably gotten a two pound loaf one out of it as well. When i used to do mine in my fan oven it would take about one hour and fifteen minutes and i used to put a dish of water in the oven to stop the cake from drying out. I think i would have done it at 150 with it being very deep. But it's all trial and error, i shouldn't really comment as i've not done one myself. One good point was the amount of money it cost which was really good. Yes you want to invest in a stand mixer it's a pity you couldn't get in touch with Kenwood or Kitchen Aid to see if you could get one to review. As always i enjoyed the video

Hello Graham and Wendy, very nice boozy Christmas cake you've just made it looked great when it was done. I think if I had a Cosori mini oven like yours I would have used that to cook the cake. Very best to both of you. Brian.
