Top 6 Fidelity Index Funds To Buy in 2023 (High Growth)

Investing in index funds has become an increasingly popular strategy for investors looking for low-cost, long-term growth. Fidelity, one of the leading investment management companies, offers a wide range of index funds that provide exposure to various market segments. In this article, we will discuss the top 6 Fidelity index funds to consider buying in 2023 for high growth potential.

1. Fidelity Contrafund (FCNTX): Managed by William Danoff, this fund aims to achieve capital appreciation by investing primarily in common stocks. The fund focuses on companies with above-average growth potential and is known for its long-term outperformance. With a low expense ratio of 0.82%, it offers a compelling option for investors seeking high growth opportunities.

2. Fidelity 500 Index Fund (FXAIX): This fund aims to track the performance of the S&P 500 index, which represents the largest U.S. companies. With a low expense ratio of 0.015%, this fund provides broad exposure to the U.S. equity market. As the economy continues to recover and expand, investing in this fund can provide attractive growth potential.

3. Fidelity Small Cap Index Fund (FSSNX): For investors looking for exposure to smaller companies, this fund seeks to track the performance of the Russell 2000 index. Small cap stocks have historically outperformed their larger counterparts over the long term. With an expense ratio of 0.025%, this fund can be an excellent choice for investors seeking high growth opportunities in the small-cap segment.

4. Fidelity Technology Index Fund (FSPTX): Technology companies have been at the forefront of innovation and growth in recent years. 5. Fidelity Real Estate Index Fund (FSRVX): Real estate can be an attractive investment segment for high growth potential. With an expense ratio of 0.071%, this fund offers investors exposure to the potential growth of the real estate market.

6. Fidelity Emerging Markets Index Fund (FPADX): For investors looking for international exposure and high growth potential, this fund aims to track the performance of the emerging markets segment. As economies in emerging markets continue to grow, this fund provides an opportunity to capture that growth. With an expense ratio of 0.08%, this fund offers exposure to some of the fastest-growing economies globally.

It’s important to note that while index funds can provide attractive growth potential, they also carry some risks. Market volatility, economic downturns, and geopolitical uncertainties can impact the performance of these funds. Therefore, it is crucial to conduct thorough research and consider your risk tolerance before investing.

In conclusion, Fidelity offers a variety of index funds that can provide high growth potential for investors. The Fidelity Contrafund, Fidelity 500 Index Fund, Fidelity Small Cap Index Fund, Fidelity Technology Index Fund, Fidelity Real Estate Index Fund, and Fidelity Emerging Markets Index Fund are all excellent options to consider in 2023. However, it’s always recommended to consult with a financial advisor or do your own research to determine which funds align with your investment goals and risk tolerance.

Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times while others tend to avoid them. Well, at least my advisor does too, jokingly.

so a good idea is to buy fxaix to track sp500 and get large caps, fskax to get large, mid and small caps? and which one would be the better international fund? FTIHX? I currently have about 1,500 in FXAIX since I iust started like 3months ago and im trying to mirror my tsp since I invest in the C,S and I fund which the C fund is the Sp500(FXAIX) The S fund(FSKAX) and the I fund(FTIHX)? Im so undecisive about what international fund to buy (FTIHX) or (FZILX) and to track dow Im indecisive wether to buy (FZROX) or (FSKAX)

  5. Gary Schmelzer

If you had a choice SCHD or VTI for 10 to 12 years which one would you choose?

  6. Daniel Jamal

After a terrible 2022, shell-shocked financial backers have a lot to think about and losses to recover from. An expansion report and a wealth of other data did little to alter assumptions that the Central bank would likely keep raising interest rates regardless of whether the economy slows down. This implies that portfolios will experience more losses during the first quarter of 2023. I'm currently at a crossroads deciding whether to exchange my $250k security/stock portfolio; how might the continuous market volatility work to my advantage?

  7. Boris Barbason

Buying a stock is easy, but buying the right stock without a time-tested strategy is incredibly hard. Hence what are the best stocks to buy now or put on a watchlist? I’ve been trying to grow my portfolio of $260K for sometime now, my major challenge is not knowing the best entry and exit strategies… I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

  8. Christopher Pouncy

Question for you: Is it good to put half of a $1000 investment into The FSKAX & FNCMX on Fidelity? What would you do? Long term of course

  9. Roland C. Jackson

This 2023 is full of great accomplishments, I was always very skeptical about investing, I would rather just save all my money in the bank, but not until I met a friend who really explained to me how much gains I could make investing. I gave it a trial with the help of my financial advisor Christy Vallen D'souza. Now I can proudly say my retirement and other investments are safe, I am not worried about getting old anymore.

  10. Let'sDoThis!

Question. You said FXAIX at a 10 yr return was 16+%. Where does it say that at on Fidelity? I've only seen 12.55%. please help lol

  11. Freedom Ring

all good funds … but really all you need is a usa based fund, a bond fund, an international fund , a total market fund and a "startup" fund … yes I am simplifying those names, but you get the point.

Hey hope all is well, again thank you for all the info you put out on your channel. You have helped me become informed and ultimately pulling the trigger in investing. I had a couple of questions for you. 1. Are these recommendations still holding up going into 2023/2024. 2. I followed your Fidelity Roth IRA video last year which was my first investment (outside the Government TSP) and this year I plan on maxing out the Roth IRA early and opening another investment account. My question is what are the benefits of jumping from brokerage to brokerage instead of staying with Fidelity. You have mentioned Vanguard on other videos and I have been debating on opening an account with them as well. I just not sure why I wouldn't just keep all my assets with Fidelity.

  14. Riley Jaensch

What 3 should I choose for my Roth ira? I’m 21 and don’t mind the aggressive growth or aggressive approach since I’m young. I was looking at doing the 3 fund portfolio, however, I don’t want to have bonds in my portfolio rn and was wondering your thoughts? I can’t decide between fxaix and fskax for my main IF

  15. Valerie Rainer

Great content, I am new to investments, I have always saved my money in the bank, Recently I came across a saying which says money saved will be spent, so I decided to start investing, I want to begin my retirement plan as soon as possible. I really do not know much. Please how do I begin? what do I do?

  18. Roland C. Jackson

I was told Roth IRA is one of the best when it comes to retirement plans but I am yet to try it out, I know a few online investments and trading, I will like to start my retirement before this month ends, Please is there any advice you can give to me on how to begin? I am new to all these.

  19. Roland C. Jackson

I heard Roth IRA is one of the best retirement plans but I have not tried it out, I know a few online investments and trading, I will like to start a Roth IRA investment, Please is there any advice you can give to me on how to begin?

  20. boy_wonder

Have a question josh. You said some of these funds aren’t able to be traded over to a different investment company….what if I wanted to buy and sell within Fidelity? I’m currently invested in FZROX but need to switch to FXAIX immediately. I’m somewhat new to investing.

  21. West Ave

How much can we invest in these fund per year individually and/or combined?

  22. Big Ac

good video, for clarification at the end which two index funds did you recommended combining for full exposure

  23. Jessica Aidu

The most important thing that should be on everyone mind currently should be to invest in different sources of income that doesn't depend on the government. Especially with the current economic crisis around the word. This is still a good time to invest in various stocks gold, silver and digital currencies.I am grateful to be informed by my ever able advisor, Jane Marie Kunak.

  24. Daily quotes

Hi Josh! Love your videos! Would mind clarifying which is best….stocks and shares ISA or index funds

  25. TanyaticASMR

Wow straight to the point from the start of this video. Super helpful. Learned a lot, thank you!!!!

  26. Lambert Denis

Love the breakdown. I've gradually built my finance and made my first $100k through investing, and with what I’ve learned over a decade investing, given enough time, solid investments have the potential to double the initial principal amount, but many investors are instead attracted to the lure of high yields in short periods of time despite the possibility of unattractive losses before even getting out. So the onus is on newbies to beware.

  27. Min Choi

Excellent video. Can you please recommend fidelity small cap index fund too?

  28. Amna Abid

You're literally the best! I love this! You're so smart and great at these videos!

  29. Palm Renders

Hey Josh, so would you recommend selling my FZROX and put it into FSKAX for the differences it offers? I’ve only made 2% on FZROX so selling and buying into the other one wouldn’t be a problem for me.

  30. Danny Walters

An ex-colleague convinced me into stock trading and investments as profitable alternative sources of income. Unfortunately, I have been down ever since. Right now, my portfolio is down by more than 40% and it's really getting depressing. Next time, I will spend my money on myself first before considering whether I will invest or not.

  31. Sancho Sports

    great vid! thanks boss

  32. Gail Nedd

    Quality video. Thank you.

  33. Jkwon Grant

Anyone else had a problem logging into the fidelity app on a iPhone?

  34. RKGSD

I had an old 401k with a Vanguard 2030 target index fund. I did a direct rollover to an existing Fidelity IRA (containing Fidelity Freedom Index funds) where it sits as cash. What would you do?

  35. Just Barking

What would be a good portfolio percentage for each of these funds?

  36. John King

    Good video

  37. إبراهيم_ibrahim

I purchased fidelity funds for 13.886 usdt how do I get a refund because I made the wrong purchase

  38. shroud

Question. I have my Roth with vanguard and VTSAX, but i want to use fidelity as my brokerage. What infex fund would you recommend as kind of my 'fidelity baby' which will be my main portfolio. Should I just go with number 1 or 2?

  39. Ryan Williams

Nice video! What’s the general rule for how much to put in core vs non-core holdings? For example, 80% into FXKAX + FXAIX and 20% into everything else, or what?

  40. Twin Finance

Hey Joshua! Great informative video! Not sure if someone else has mentioned this but your time stamp at 7:52 isn't working because there's a typo in your description where it should be 7:52 instead of what is it now which is 7.52. Just wanted to point it out just in case!

  41. Shaw dunlap

What one small cap stock would you recommend out of these or any others?

  42. kre45

Saving this video. I invested in fskax from watching your Roth IRA start up to get my foot in the door
