In today’s video, I want to cover what he plans to change and who is most likely to benefit from these changes.

I think it’s really lousy how a person pays into the system their entire life and paid taxes on top of that, only to have to pay taxes again on a federal level. America is literally getting screwed. My x husband was military for 17.5 years. I recently got survivor benefits. The lump sum for 2021 was $$$$. But then I get a letter saying their going to “ hold $$$” in case they over paid me. I can do the math so why can’t they?

In the title it states "Biden's Plan" and published about 1 year ago. Is this now law and effective? Or still in the mix with a lot of his other "plans"? TIA

I am 60 and started getting survivor benefits in February 2022. They tell me I can only make $19,800 a year. I spoke to an older friend of mine who said he could earn as much as he wanted when he got survivor benefits. Why did that change? I have cut my hours back and don't want to lose my health benefits. Besides, my employer needs me. They cannot find enough staff. Is there a way around this?

How can I cancel my pending survivors benefits Application. I just applied July 1 of this year. I want to cancel The application and start mine benefits first

I am receiving a survivors benefits for 3 years already..If my income goes more than $17,000 a year they automatically cut off my benefits..! My annual income from work as daycare assistant is between $21,000-23,000..! So technically, I only received my survivors benefits only 6 months. if by error they send me a check and I am already earning more than $17,000 ..I normally received letter SS admin to pay them back and my benefits stop. And will wait for the next year to start receiving again… it's like a cycle..

scenero, both are 60yrs old today, the higher wage earner dies before filing for soc sec, does the remaining spouse get to claim his benefits when she reaches retirement age, and doesn't re marry.

  12. Janet Pagendarm

does the survivor spouse get more if her spouse goes on dialysis before He Passes

    You can’t get Survivor benefits.
Unless you have been married to that spouse for 10 years.
Exactly 10 years to the day.
    I know this.
My husband and I were married for 9 years 11 months and 28 days.
I missed it by 2 days to collect Survivor Benefits.
They really need to change this.

  14. Marlyn Castner

I currently collect a SB and just recently retired at 66 in my 67th year. For clarity, are you saying that I could collect 75% of his (deceased) and 75% of mine? Sounds too good to be true .. I have left a message with SS to a specific number, left a voicemail and the call has not been returned, yet, with this very same question. Does anyone view these questions/comments from Devin's camp and reply?

  15. Kelly York

And you can actually file for your deceased spouse’s or ex spouse’s ( if you were married at least 10 years ) survivors benefits, and DELAY taking your OWN social security, which is probably higher, until a later date, but there is paperwork for that.

  16. Kelly York

Don’t confuse “survivor’s benefits“ ( your spouse or ex spouse has DIED ) with benefits you could get when your spouse or ex spouse is still ALIVE. This confusion happens all the time, even among experts. Do your own research. AARP has some basic and good info in this. You could start there.

  17. Do Good

to qualify for Spouse benefits you have to be married 10 years, If the government reduces this duration
    will certainly helps many seniors.

  18. Mary Elizabeth

Does this apply to divorced spousal survivor benefit?

  19. Bones ShrinkingCoyote

and on top of all that, the changes will NOT HELP those of us on Adult child Survivor benefits, we will NOT see an increase and we WILL STILL LOSE OUR BENEFITS if we even so much as DATE another person

He has no plans for ss except to hurt us.this should be obvious to everybody by now.

  21. Laney Haney

When will this take place permanently

  22. Playboy Barbie

Hello, great video. I’m on SSI & unfortunately my young husband unexpectedly recently passed away, leaving me with two small children. Since he was so young when he passed he didn’t have much built up for myself & 2 children to get in survivors benefits per month. He also had 2 children from a previous relationship so it’s being split 5 ways. I never hear about what’s going on in the case of someone who passed young leaving a wife & children behind with survivors benefits instead of when they die older & just leave an elderly wife behind. Any information on that?
