Does this apply to 529 a (ABlE) accounts?

If I am a non-resident alien in USA on work visa and would like to retire in my home country, should I open an IRA account and invest or do a taxable brokerage account? I am 30 and plan to stay here for another 15-20 years.

It’s a shame the government won’t let you roll the $35K over at once. However this is better than nothing and a positive move to jumpstart the younger generation’s retirement.

I wonder how states treat this. NY state allows a max $5,000 deduction on contributions made to a NY State 529 for NY residents. If we rollover, I wonder if the state would make us pay taxes on the amount deducted.

    Thanks for the ride along.

Novel idea… How about you read the document, distill the information, and then present that? You know, versus figuring it out in real time

The aggregate explanation for the fore with contributions, not to exceed 30,000 likes, AND shall not mention to subscribe, grants contributor and receiver a greater interpretation, not with standing a lack of understanding for section 408A(e) of said code. Thank you – Dustin. I am prepared for Christmas dinner conversation now. All I need is a Ross Perot Story Board from 1996.

What if the 529 was opened for 15 years but the beneficiary was changed 5 years ago?

The bill also raises the RMD applicable age from 72 to 73 for those reaching age 72 after 12/31/2022.

I have a family friend who is looking to set up 529’s for my children inside of a trust with her son as the executor. What are the implications for that scenario?

I can’t watch an otherwise astute speaker swill whisky and demonstrate a total lack of preparation just to run up the YouTube clock. Don’t waste our time.

Are the changes to tax/investment accounts usually in the spending bills?

I have a ESA (Education Savings account). What happens with these? Is it just for 529 accounts? I’ve had these ESA accounts for my 3 kids for 25 years, before there were 529 accounts. I would hope these new rules apply to both the 529 and ESA accounts.

Thanks for the info Dustin, I'm not used to positive things from the government.

I don't know how you do this man but it doesn't even sound like English. Thank you for taking the time to make us understand this.
