COMBINE THESE 2 ETFs to CRUSH S&P 500 VOO

by | Dec 3, 2022 | Vanguard IRA | 35 comments

This growth ETF and this dividend ETF combined are appreciating more than S&P 500 ETF VOO. Retire early with dividends while still having over $2 Million growing in a growth ETF for retirement. These Vanguard funds are the best ETFs I have found for a solid investing portfolio.

Professor G, what type of account under fidelity would I open to purchase ETFs to start buying VUG & VYM

  2. Lance

What do you think of VIG?

  3. BeenThereDoneThat

Are those the same as SCHD and SCHG?What website do u use to calculate the investment growth? Ty

ARK invest is a disgusting portfolio.
I don't recommend it. I love Cathie Woods. She spend time finding growth stock. But when it comes of reading economics time line. She is so fking horrible. Warren buffet is still will always be the king when it comes of buying growth stocks.

  5. Justin Anzalone

I agree. Only thing is: VOO has those too stocks at a decent % based each. Like AAPL is 6-7% of VOO. Not a huge difference

  6. TheShadeMan

    Tqqq looks good right now

Investing Simplified or… Make Investing…simple or simpler. Ok, so what about….TAXES? That VYM…kicks out divs. They get taxed and you lose some of that payout. I would recomment VYM be put in a tax free account, like an IRA. Taxes will eat up return. I like this hybrid though. Just need to always keep…taxes…in consideration, right? That is part of the real return here. Need to at least mention that for sure. VOO is great..nice low fee, low standard deviation, beats vt, vti long term mostly and smoother ride probably…but vs VYM w VUG. Hmm..veddy eenturesting. What is the combined drag of those 2…combined fee %? Drag sucks.

can answer. I have fidelity. Am I able to buy the vanguard stocks on my fidelity account? I see I am able to add it to my watchlist.

  9. Vicente Cabrera

Your assumptions are wrong… VYM has a since inception return of 7.39%. VOO 12.52% return. VUG 9.25%. I do agree with your philosophy. Maybe add a few more holdings such as high yield bonds and REITS in tax sheltered accounts.

    Thanks for the nice video

  11. Thanos was right

When u say it goes up x% per year does that include dividends?

  12. James Love

S&P500 does keep up with the money supply increase.

Doesn't outperform. It is sad how fucked we get from inflation

  13. Thomas1701E

Which investment calculator do you use? I can't find a good one.

  14. Josef Torkelsen

Great video. One minor thought is that growth and value stocks are cyclical. After 10 yrs of outperformance of growth, the next 10 years generally factors value. Historically small cap value though our performs growth so I may suggest substitutijg the growth for value or using all 3 and rebalancing 12 to 18 months.

  15. Fred Atlas

How many people can realistically invest $100 a week, just maybe when they are in their fifties and don't have very long left to save for retirement if they are lucky. Why not just one fund that tracks the whole market, then you will own the growth stocks, the high dividend and value everything in one fund

  16. connectsjob com

    only two best beating VOO
Last 10’years is QQQ and VGT

  17. Jack Daniels

I'm kinda late investing. 40 now but if I put 800 a month can I catch up?

  18. RobFrank22

    VUG & SCHD yields more

  19. Yellow Train

$ESGV & $VSGX IS ALL YOU NEED. You can also throw in $VTV for a bump in domestic dividends.

  20. V K

Is there a difference in fees if you invest in VOO&VUG through TD Ameritrade vs going through Vanguard?

  21. j

NO NO NO! DO NOT buy a growth ETF. These growth stocks are at all time bubble highs STILL after QQQ has fallen 30%. If you buy a growth ETF at these valuations you WILL get smoked. Wanna REALLY beat the S&P next 10 years? Take a look at value, small caps, and international

  22. Erico Huang

I like watching your Videos. Thank you for sharing the knowledge. I just wondering, what do you think about SPHD? Thank you.

  23. Primo Cuts

So you're liking this combo vs combining both with VOO?

  24. Swee Solis

if i start to invest only $100 a month in this 2 etfs how much it will be in 10 years

  25. Ayman Chabchoub

Great video, thanks for the effort.
Can you tell us which website you are using to screen these ETF? Does it require a premium subscription?

  26. Brian Crizaldo

What are your thoughts on SFY (SoFi’s ETF)? I know it’s still new but you think it has potential for a long time hold?

  27. Brendan K

Didnt realize VUG had such a lower expense ratio compared to Qqq. Ty for the video!

  28. TheOtherMike

My wife and I started seriously investing only 15 years ago after we paid off our house. For the last 10 years of those 15, we have put in the max allowed in our 401K's. Before the latest drop in the market we were up to $750K. Now we are down to about $675K. Having a paid for home allows you to really accelerate your savings rate. The earlier you begin to SERIOUSLY save in your 401K, the quicker you will be able to live off of dividends.

  29. Miguel Salgueiro

Hi! Can you recommend a similar stategy for a european investor? Thank you.

  30. LTM Simply

That’s Not consistent though. Maybe this year is up and usually you can’t sell the voo now and buy the others while they are ⬆️…

  31. Drazzziin

Super informative video! However, while the S&P500 has returned ~10% in the past, this should not be used to forecast the future. The US has had an incredible century of global outperformance and in return, valuations skyrocketed. However, we can’t expect this to repeat. If valuations stay at current levels, expected future nominal returns are more around 8% than 10%.
