Maybe I state the obvious that bear market is the stock market not the economy. But to compare this video's estimate of how long is the average bear market with the average recession of one year with an average stock market decline of 15% needs to be reconciled by the fact that bear markets and recessions may overlap but don't share starts and ends. Furthermore, the economy is inflation and unemployment levels as part of GDP change. But I think this youtube channel has been pretty good about a long term perspective looking back at the library of videos. The scary thing is that maybe we have not hit the bottom of the stock market and that maybe we have not started the recession as unemployment is still pretty low. This channel did claim a "new type of recession".
