Following the widespread economic devastation caused by the pandemic and lockdown, National Treasury announced relief measures to support the recovery of the economy and to aid the poor. National Treasury is currently in discussion with business and labour to consider the proposal to allow retirement fund members to make limited withdrawals from their retirement funds without the need to change employers or wait for reaching retirement age.
