Did they ever stop printing for the stock market and banks?

  2. gamblersgambit08

The reserve didn’t simply ignore it, they poured gas on that fire

  3. 1two3Fore

The OP that made this cartoon was probably screaming at the FED in 2018 to NOT increase rates then. These dipshits think you can keep rates at 0 forever and NOT have an inflation problem.

  4. Illustrious-Ant6998

    This is fine.

  5. RudeExplanation9304

Just the whole economy at stake….what could go wrong

  6. Abject-Copy-2438

Quite possibly worst ever. Like what is the equivalent of GOAT? WOAT?? Yeah he’s the WOAT

  7. Agreeable_Net_4325

They acted late for sure but that pandemic thing tho.

  8. Hygro

70s inflation is so poorly misunderstood.

First oil shock took about 3 years for inflation to come back down, during which time the Fed had a loose money policy to maximize output during the supply shortage.

Second oil shock took about 3 years for inflation to come back down, during which time the Fed had an extreme tight money policy to not maximize output during the supply shortage.

This sub was all JPow dick riders just two years ago.

  10. SaneLad

Yes. Fuck this guy. Asleep at the wheel over one of the worst market bubbles in history. Now runs the world economy into the ground to fix it.

Trump should have let Powell do his job in 2018. PPP was a gigantic fraud, they never should have let Eddie Lampert’s pal be secretary of the Treasury. But most of all, they should have made the banks pay for 2008 instead of creating the gigantic moral hazard that has shaped the market and its perception to this day – where everyone is somehow expecting the Fed to “pivot”, resume QE and do rate cuts to near 0% again as if that’s what a normal economy is.

  14. fireape55

Trifecta. Powell, yellen and gensler are the worst at their positions. They don’t care about the economy, markets, or citizens. It’s all about power and control.

  15. SpaceToaster

You forgot the part where he was pouring gas on it for the first 3 frames

  16. Jpat863

They are trying to save the economy by ruining the economy

  17. jambazi99

This sub has waaaay more monetary policy experts than all the FED commissioners in history combined.

  18. richbeezy

Yup, Powell needs to resign along with some other high-level Fed officials. Absolute garbage. They caused the inflation and then caused the recession. A 3rd grader could do a better job.

  19. bneff08

There’s such thing as a good fed chairman?

  20. SpecificTalk269

Biden is adding fuel to the inflation as well by having huge spending bills. So, J Pow is fucked, and we are fucked.

  21. nanojunkster

The first 3 slides should have JPOW making the money machine go BRRRR fueling the fire.

  27. stealthtradergirl

We should lay off pow to help curb some inflation!

  28. Superdank888

You forgot th part where he prints $ and pours gas on the flame

  29. skcuf2

My assumption as to why this happened is because when they said, “Inflation is transitory” they were working on the assumption that businesses were super greedy and didn’t care about people. Combine that with the influx of cash from the stimulus checks to the population and there’s a 100% guarantee of inflation. The debate is which kind of inflation we could expect.

The current people in charge forgot that the rest of the world also had issues at the same time and not all of the issues were created by greedy billionaires trying to fuck over the little guy and this is most likely the reason for the delay.

  30. Wonderouswondr

    Lol this is too accurate

  31. Space-Booties

    I concur.

  32. Diogenes_Epiphany

Jp at least has the balls to do what is right vs Bernanke and Yellen sucking banks cock and sent the world in the modern day spiral we see today, and we are living in 20 years of horrible fiscal policy from those decisions.

  33. OnlyChaseCommas

He was dumping gas on the fire the entire time. He’s complicit

  34. yoyoyowhoisthis

Do we just ignore the fact that booming stock market was Trumps golden ticket to re-election ?

  35. badboje

This is so unfair to JPOW, the guy got put in an impossible situation with COVID

  36. PowerPCGamer

I remember my parents getting stimulus checks and being like “WTF, we don’t need the money.”

  37. sendokun

What hero?! He recked the economy.

It clearly the fed can’t deal with inflation, and his decision is to reck t
