I don’t care about volatility you can off set it with time…I got 30 years before I’m need the money I don’t care if the entire market dived means I’m buying at a discount. Mine is 60% s&p, 20% mid cap and 20% small cap

Avoid the target date funds. During a normal market, put 50% in a well-diversified blue chip stock fund and the other 50% into a bond fund – preferably with at least a 5% dividend yield. When the market starts to crash or turns extra volatile, re-allocate 90% to the bond fund and only 10% to the stock fund. When the market bottoms, allocate 90% to stocks and 10% to bonds. Use stocks and bonds as variables to play against one another for your own benefit. NOT a recommendation. Do your own due diligence.

Learning a ton from your videos! Question – do you use your own app NestEgg to determine what these stats (dividend yield, max drawdown, etc) are or is there website/app where these numbers can be tracked/adjusted/etc based on the fund you are interested in?

great info here; i do have one question though. With the day to day shaky market, is it safe to ever go 'Stable' with our 401? we have this option at our company.
