One of the key takeaways from this conversation is the importance of perseverance. No matter what hurdles come your way, the panelists stress the need to keep going. They share personal anecdotes, including moments of doubt and setbacks, but emphasize how pushing through those challenges ultimately leads to greater success.

Another crucial discussion point revolves around adapting to change and staying up to date with eBay’s ever-evolving policies and algorithms. As eBay continues to refine its platform, sellers need to keep abreast of new trends, developments, and guidelines. By doing so, sellers can ensure they are maximizing their visibility and potential on the platform.

The panelists also delve into the significance of building a strong brand and reputation. With millions of sellers on eBay, standing out from the competition can be a daunting task. However, by consistently providing quality products, excellent customer service, and maintaining a positive feedback score, sellers can create a strong brand identity that resonates with buyers.

In addition to these strategies, the episode highlights the importance of diversifying product offerings and exploring new market opportunities. By expanding into different niches or exploring international selling, sellers can tap into new customer bases and increase their revenue streams.

Throughout the episode, the camaraderie and support among the panelists are palpable. They remind viewers that the eBay community is one of mutual assistance and encouragement. Sharing knowledge, insights, and experiences helps everyone grow and succeed together.

I look forward to your show each day. I find it so informative, I have been doing ebay for 13 years, I am still learning constantly. Thank you, keep up the good work.

You are awaiting the dreaded MC_011 suspension. That is your bye-bye store. You will have 30 days to scape data from the store. I have had two stores shut down. One produced a little over 22k net for the last two years of operation, and the other 20k net the last two years it was open. It took me almost the full month to scrape the stores as I did not have a sysem in place. Now I have a system that collects data on the fly. I have my customer list, their ebay id, their purchases, their mailing addresses, return rate, purchase profit models and amount purchased per month. One store was closed by Ebay because I sold items from 1909, that had the same identical name as an item copyrighted by Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), the movie empire. It did not matter to Appu from Indonesia, it did not matter to Marcus or his team in SoCal that it was a popular public domain item. ILM had sent a note to Ebay on the name only. The name was not copyrighted. The product I produced was public domain. Didn't matter. Ebay yanked my chain with the yada yada yada, then just quit answering my messages. So now I have over 20 additional user ids, that I purchase items with, build postiive feedback, and might need in the future. I currently have 5 ebay stores producing revenue. They are diverse, each with a different state tax id #, different bank acct, lots of different emails, etc etc etc etc. Before my wife passed , we were quite the profitable team. She was a logistics whiz. I was good at moving the ball forward. When she passed my business went to hell in a hand basket. After a couple of years it is being rebuilt with ME in mind. I pay Ebay almost 43% of GROSS. I have no ethical qualms of playing Ebay for every legal and legitiamate hole that they provide. I take care of my customers far better than Ebay does theirs. Guerilla warefare will put more money in your pile , being open faced, wastes your valuable time.

You said slippage. Its shrinkage. As in your inventory shrunk due to theft.

I manufacture some of my own products that no one else can even sell. The average sell price on these items are $75.00 I have already sold a lot of them, but the last 4 months it has really grinded to a hault. I shut down my R&D about 8 months ago, and just this month I had hault restocking as nothing seems to sell no matter what I list. What can you do when you know it is not your fault that shit is danm near not worth doing anymore.

I always cringe at the niki Kirk videos. She just blabs and creates complete competition on a damn daily basis. I really hate when creators do this to gain course sign ups!

Hi.. I watched the first 10 mins (for reference sake).. once you said you were gonna move on and not concern yourself with the hats I just decided to click out.. … so I wanted to come back and report my experience the last 18 hours or so..

Here's what it came down to for my two listings.. e Bay said they were counterfeit, I called e bay after watching your intro and they told me that no one reported my two listings, but they were flagged because they were authentic and I some how marked the brand as unbranded .. the discrepancy triggered the AI to take it down.. I was also told that I could relist but to brand them correctly and leave that brand out of the title and put it in the description instead..

    Simply put, damn…

I, too, am living in fear as a reseller. That fact that eBay has no due process is beyond frustrating. I hope all the bigger YouTube resellers band together and continually promote a meeting with top eBay executives so we can get some help and maybe some results making the suspension process fair.

  10. Olivia True2

With returns, I have been also refunding original shipping. Am i the only one doing that? It seems fair to me. Don't your customers complain if you don't?

  11. Mike Hill Project

Josh, I listen to you and James every day and it makes listing go faster and more interesting. It keeps me motivated because when I get home Im tired, I have a full time day job and list at night. I just discovered the multiple listing feature LOL

  12. Tom Cruise

So far ive gotten two 3 day restrictions and two 7 day restrictions for different items i did not relist items no warning just straight to restriction most of them have been vero companies claiming my item is fake one restriction was a buyer claiming my item fake after i didnt fully refund his return my items are not fake its just the economy is low and brands want you to pay full price at a retail store. Its also buyers or sellers reporting your items either because they think its going to improve their sales or they did not get the outcome they wanted on a return. Brands to watch out for is microsoft, berkley, cengage learning, Shimano, kodak, Water filters any legit brand like frigidaire ultrawf. Also buyers/sellers report to vero companies block buyer when they ask if you are a autborized reseller

  13. Mike C

Josh what do you think of the conspiracy theory of eBay hiding listings or throttling traffic? I ask this because I was having steady sales up until about 4pm. At that time I sent 3 offers to watchers and since then (it's 8pm now) I have only ONE offer to send out with zero offers coming in with zero sales. I have about 3k listings with 1800+ sold in 90 days. This doesn't make any sense! My sales have dropped off a cliff the last two weeks

  14. Cole Williams

Josh. Took a quick look at your store. I think you could really help your sales by going through and fixing your current listings so they rank higher rather that listing more. If you start with optimizing title structure you will see a huge gain

  15. Shanna Anhalt

I do well as a hard goods seller have had no luck with clothes and thrifts store prices don’t allow a profit anymore. I don’t have a bins to go to. Hardgoods are where it’s at for me.

  16. Gordon Burns

The number of people that say selling on ebay beats having to go to a job just reinforces how low the barrier to entry is. Its a crappy business when anyone can do it, whether they succeed or fail just more competition. If ppl were honest, most just creating a job for themselves and less of a real stand alone business selling on ebay.

  17. Husty's Emporium

I also got told that authentication was being overrun with shoes because they lowered the price that would trigger authentication so like you said they had to make it 'computer says no' ……problem is computer isn't clever enough right now, they keep using apps and extensions that aren't fit for purpose i wouldn't mind so much if they didn't use us as guinea pigs while they test these things, Q4 normally breaks eBay past few years for me i had the worst month of the year last year

  18. Brightline E.

For the people getting excited about making a living off of Polo Ralph Lauren, -enjoy it while it lasts, because I've seen so many videos lately telling people to buy Polo Ralph Lauren…so expect that market to be saturated by tenfold in the next 2 months, -and furthermore, trends change,…if so many people wear polo, -even the dorks, -then it won't be in demand as much anymore, -it will be uncool again.

  19. Brightline E.

I've never cared about listing a certain number of items per day, -I only care about the monetary value that I list per day. I try to list $1,000 worth of stuff per day, -sometimes that's only 10 items. If I'm listing a vintage silk clothing piece, -I'm not trying to photograph it and list it in under a minute, -I'll take at least 10 minutes.

  20. Husty's Emporium

Exactly you hit the nail right on the head Josh that's exactly what's happening the authorized distributors and retailers don't like it and they don't like us getting that over saturated overpriced stock they can't shift but we can for cheaper because we AREN'T greedy and that's exactly how they are going to stop us by lying about item's being counterfeit when they are not it's sneaky at best and down right disgusting at worst, it's like Burberry would rather burn trench coats than let resellers have them to sell "IN MY OPINION" disclaimer

  21. Dede

This tip probably won’t help if somebody already has an infestation of moths in their storage space, but if you put clothing in a freezer, which is at least 5° below zero, for a minimum of 48 hours, it will kill any kind of bug or egg that might be in it including moth eggs, bedbugs, etc. if someone has a huge scale operation, this wouldn’t work, but for the occasional piece of wool clothing, it’s great, after listing it just seal it up in a plastic bag and you should be safe.

  22. Husty's Emporium

Another pair of Yeezys taken off for no freakin reason it's really starting to piss me off they lie to you when they are going to get back to you, they lie about why they were taken off, and at the end when they WILL be proven to be genuine i will NOT even get an apology after 17 years of service if they dare say thanks for your loyalty one more time i might well loose it, i think i need to go for that walk lol

  23. Brightline E.

I've sold about 50 expensive dresses between $130 to $230 in the last 3 months(all the same brand). I DON'T offer free returns, but out of those 50 sales I think 8 messaged me that they would like to return the dress, and I politely declined and encouraged them to list the dress themselves on ebay. 1 of the buyers had a legitimate complaint, -they found a tiny stain, and I gave that buyer a partial refund of about $70.00.

  24. DONKEY WAFFLE

You are correct Josh. having a large knowledge base of clothing brands/sizes/styles/etc.. matters. Sourcing availability in your area also matters. Completely understand why you dislike clothing. I started selling on eBay in Feb clothing only because that is what is most available in my area. Focus on vintage. I am doing very well, growing mouthy -slowly but surely. Many clothing resellers may feel the same about other categories that they are not experts in or have limited knowledge. I am not good with antiques or books. I hate it, so I stick to my lane. I hear you though and understand. Thanks for your hard work with your videos really enjoy them!

I have had $32, $16 and $21 days along with $575, $542 and $382 days in 10 days. Must be my products and prices except every other day. Screw all of the big Youtubers blaming the sellers. They are just sycophantic cuckholds.
