Finding a Homestead: Expert Tips (Curtis Stone)
In the pursuit of a simpler and more self-sustaining lifestyle, many people are turning their attention towards homesteading. Homesteading involves pursuing a life of self-reliance where individuals cultivate their land, grow their own food, and make use of renewable resources. If you’re ready to embark on this fulfilling journey, renowned small-scale farmer Curtis Stone has some invaluable tips to help you find the perfect homestead.
1. Define Your Goals
Before you start searching for a homestead, it’s crucial to define your goals and understand what kind of lifestyle you want to achieve. Are you looking for a quiet retreat in the countryside, or do you want to build a self-sufficient farm that generates income? Identifying your objectives will help narrow down your search and ensure you find a property that aligns with your vision.
2. Determine Your Budget
Having a clear understanding of your financial limitations is essential when searching for a homestead. Consider what you can afford upfront and what monthly expenses you’re willing to handle. Remember, there is more to consider than just the purchase price. Assess the potential costs of renovations, maintenance, and any additional resources or supplies you may need. Being realistic about your budget will make the entire process less daunting.
3. Location, Location, Location
Deciding where you want to establish your homestead is a significant decision. Consider factors like climate, growing season, soil quality, and access to water sources. While it may be tempting to venture to far-off rural areas, it’s important to consider the proximity to local towns or markets, healthcare facilities, and schools. A balance between seclusion and accessibility is ideal for most homesteaders.
4. Research the Property
Once you’ve identified potential properties, don’t be afraid to do some deep research. Visit the area to get a feel for the surroundings, talk to neighbors, and even visit the local government offices to gather information on zoning regulations, land-use restrictions, or any upcoming development plans. Familiarize yourself with the property’s history and any potential challenges it may present, such as soil contamination or drainage issues.
5. Assess Existing Structures and Land Features
If the property you’re eyeing has existing structures, consider their condition and how they align with your homesteading goals. Can they be repurposed for your needs, or will they require substantial investment to make them functional? Evaluate the land itself and its potential for gardening, animal husbandry, or other agricultural activities. Look for features like natural water sources, adequate sunlight exposure, and topography suitable for your plans.
6. Seek Advice
Don’t underestimate the power of seeking advice from experts, such as agronomists, surveyors, or experienced farmers. They can provide valuable insights into the potential of the land and help you avoid costly mistakes. Consulting with professionals can help you make informed decisions and give you a realistic assessment of whether a particular property suits your needs or not.
Finding the ideal homestead might take time and effort, but by following these expert tips from Curtis Stone, you’ll be well on your way to finding a place that allows you to lead a more sustainable and fulfilling lifestyle. Remember, homesteading is about more than just the property; it’s about cultivating a sense of self-reliance and connection with the land.
danny king at 'deep south homestead' is using copper in some of their plantings
recently he spoke of how the plants were growing quickly in a field with nylon fencing
he thought it might have to do with a possible partnership between nylon and electricity

How about avocado trees in BC and Mangoes in Tennessee? 16 feet deep trench with growing beds four feet high on each side of the greenhouse trees!

David, think of the planetary alignment October 23, 2024 as the bridge rectifier to the Earth melted the ice age sheets with electrical discharge to plasma burn” that creates the Grand Canyon….
Continuing with these thoughts… this why I have been so interested in everyone having the ability to make their own free electrical energy (so that electrolysis of water could produce hydrogen and oxygen abundantly to run farm equipment and develop a whole host of products from food to alcohol, etc.) that would allow the development of 3D printing of parts to rebuild society by creating jobs.
The BIG SECRET is that you can multiply voltage to any high amount and then down-step that high voltage into producing BOTH high amperage AND a slightly lower voltage than the original higher voltage input from which this usable lower voltage with sufficient amperage is attainable to run a generator, electrolysis, et.!
The big secret to achieving this is that anyone can take a bare wire that is suspended 20 feet above the ground for 100 feet to another earth-ground wire that both feed to a four-diode brides rectifier (less than $2 to make) to make a low 5VDC voltage and that can step-up via a smaller transformer (a toothbrush coil or toy coil wired into a doorbell transformer that feeds a neon or microwave transformer that feeds into a larger 50Kv telephone-pole transformer into a smaller 10Kv transformer that will produce a a steady download of 10Kv continuous electricity to live anywhere in the world! It took years and thousands of hours of studying of multiple industries and ideas to understand how simple all of these things can be done in an inexpensive and efficient way that benefits everyone!
Orgone energy tubes dissipate clouds as theory is South Pole flux fields are amperage but North Pole is voltage flowing so lightning strikes disassociate hydrogen and nitrogen (78% in air) and when 100 million degrees of ionization spark back together creates thunder with HN ions of fertilizers that are attracted to the Electroculture coils of negatively charged earth-ground where roots absorb the nitrogen along with minerals from fungal enzymatic breakdown.

Ahh…so I need to buy a bunch of junk cars for my homestead so no one buys the property around me.
Outstanding conversation! Man, talk about a great community of all like-minded individuals/families with Curtis and David in it. Crazy and lazy/trashy people are everywhere, I'm over them lol
When you can no longer buy things for a reasonable price, if you can find them at all i will go to my so called junk and find something that will work with maybe a slight modification. So when your frantically looking for something to fix x,y, or z i will just walk out to the pile, which i do keep out of sight for the most part, and get something to fix the problem.
Experts claim that it is not a good idea to have trees and buildings up close to your residence. It provides cover for the zombies.
this video is far far underrated. such good info

One other thing to watch out for is when people clear cut and harvest the timber off a piece of land and then put it up for sale relatively cheap. The clear cut is recent so it doesn't show up on map images, and of course they're not going to say that in the listing. I've seen a lot of that here in central north carolina.
I’m introducing electro culture in to my gardens this year, planting strawberries today
Like the topic, overall. You should have a series based on this.
Side note. Considering the cost of copper, this best have a major impact for ROI.
Clearly the gods of censorship are alive and well here… Rest In Pieces:
there will be no safe zones when SHTF. Hungry, desperate people will do ANYTHING to feed their families. There is no "remote" location that will not be swarmed in the search for food, should it get that bad. What I'm NOT hearing is how to prepare to help those less fortunate, like our Creator DEMANDS. Happy Easter.
Hi David and Co. I have also worked on these inventions and designed some yet to work on and they will indeed work! The tower and the coil are good options but getting the height for the tower is a problem and making the coil system that i would need for low input /high output would be expensive to fabricate!? That is why I chose my current machine that I will finish this month now my back is much better after 2 slip disc's "pain you would not want to know"! As promised David when it is up and running i will do you a video as said before. Had a few setbacks due to my back but on the mend now…..
