Explaining my 401k Match & 3 Benefits of 401k Investing

In this video I’ll run through my 401k / 403b match and three reasons why you should be contributing to one. A traditional 401K is an employer sponsored retirement plan which takes tax-deferred contributions. My 401k states that they will match 3.5% of the first 6% of employee salary contributed. More specifically they will match 100% of the first 1% and 50% of the remaining 5% of salary.

Do you also use a Roth IRA? It seems that 401k and R.IRA are a good team. Also do you believe that there are some negatives to 401k? I was under the impression you could lose it depending on the market and overall economy. Thanks for your time.

Most people at the the hospital MDs and PAs have no clue about financial literacy. Some have worked >10 years and have no idea of pslf, 403b. Also some employers put the 403b in annuities as a default unless you change it.

I also work EM. My employer matches $1.20 per $1.00 of my contribution up to 6%. I have to work at least 1000 hours in the calendar year and still be employed as of December 31. Lump sum funding by April 15th for the prior plan year with immediate 100% vesting.

Hello, I do believe you have experience working as an ED PA-C and I was wondering about how many hours per week you would work as an ED PA-C? I am a PA-S starting clinicals in about 2 weeks and am trying to find out how many hours each specialty works on average per week. Thank you!
