Express Entry is a popular immigration system for skilled workers who want to immigrate to Canada. The system is designed to give priority to candidates who have the skills and experience that are needed in the Canadian labour market. Express Entry is a points-based system, and candidates are assessed based on factors such as their age, education, language skills, and work experience.

In some cases, applicants may have applied for Express Entry as singles, and later decide to apply with their spouse. This is common when the principal applicant is the only one who meets the eligibility criteria for Express Entry. However, many applicants are often worried about losing points by adding their spouse after receiving an invitation to apply (ITA).

The good news is that applicants can add their spouse after receiving an ITA, and the points will not be affected. This is because the points are calculated based on the information that was submitted at the time of the ITA. Once an ITA has been issued, applicants should submit their application for permanent residency as soon as possible. This will help to ensure that the application is processed quickly, and that the applicant’s points are not impacted.

When adding a spouse to an Express Entry application, the applicant must ensure that their spouse meets the eligibility criteria. This includes factors such as their language proficiency, education, and work experience. The spouse must also provide all the required documentation, such as police certificates and medical exams.

It is important to note that adding a spouse to an Express Entry application may result in additional processing time. This is because the spouse will need to provide their own documentation and undergo the necessary background checks. However, the processing time can be reduced by submitting a complete and accurate application, and by providing all the required documentation upfront.

In some cases, applicants may be concerned about how adding a spouse may affect their chances of receiving an ITA. It is important to understand that Express Entry is a highly competitive system, and that many factors can influence the outcome of an application. However, adding a qualified spouse to an application is unlikely to have a negative impact on the application.

In conclusion, adding a spouse to an Express Entry application after receiving an ITA is possible without losing points. Applicants must ensure that their spouse meets the eligibility criteria and provides all the required documentation. While it may result in additional processing time, adding a spouse is unlikely to negatively impact the application. Good luck with your application!

Hi , while submitting my EE application, I mentioned my company name as XYZ Co. However, after getting ITA, I realized that the name mentioned on offer letter is XYZ Services India Pvt Ltd. Can I update the company name to the actual one while accepting the invitation? Will this require an LOE?

    Hi there,
My wife's passport has been requested for (so she's about to be approved) and up until now, we decided I will not be accompanying her. Now a long time has past, and since this request for her passport, we have now decided I should accompany her. Is it too late for me to be added at this stage?

Hi, I am in the exact situation as you described in this video, from what I understand I can add my spouse to my application even if he's unaccompanied without losing points. I recently had a newborn and I am considering doing this as I may not be able to take care of two children all by myself. Thanks a lot this video gives me so much relief!!! Sigh

Hi. What if someone gets pnp and then ita and then AOR and then he gets married? Does he need to Inform the province too along with IRCC? will it create any complications in the profile?

Hi , what if I already got my working visa , but then i decided to get married here in my country before landing to Canada.. is it necessary to change my civil status.. If yes , how? And will it affect If i will decide to process my permanent residency in the future?

Hi, you are doing a great job…!!!!
Before the question, I would like to explain my case.

Initially, My wife had created her profile as a non-accompanying spouse. At this time her score was 459. If she accompanying me her score became 443 and the cut off for Ontario was 454.

She got the invitation from Ontario and her PNP is now approved.

So her total score is 1059(459+600).
So my question is can she now change her profile to spouse accompanying? This will change her score to 1043. Will the IRCC consider 1043 or 443 scores? Waiting for your reply…

Canadian immigration should delete iltes requirement because if the person already has education certificate and able to read write speak and understand English language so I think no need to pass iltes specially for C and D category

  15. Abdul jalil

Let me know why it's not possible to apply without iltes even the applicant can read write speak and understand English language
