1) What is an Index Fund?
An index fund is an investment that tracks a market index. A market index measures the value of a portfolio of holdings with specific market characteristics. Index funds typically invest in all the components that are included in the index they track. The 3 most famous indices you’ve probably heard of is the S&P 500, Dow Jones, and Nasdaq.
2) What to look at?
We’re going to focus on a few things on Fidelity. We’ll take a look at the Morningstar snapshot, expense ratio, past performance, top holdings, and major market sectors.
3) My Investment Strategy
– I like FZROX. Which is Fidelity’s ZERO Total Market Index Fund.
– I like to invest in is FZILX. Which is Fidelity’s Zero International Index Fund. Its exposure is to foreign developed and emerging stock markets.
– I invest into a REIT. Specifically FSRMX, fidelity Real Estate Index Fund. This fund invest into the overall real estate sector in the US and it provides dividends, of course, as well as because its real estate, it plays nicely to our hedge against inflation strategy.

    I chose Vanguard's VOO over Fidelity zero fund. Because VOO's Yield minus expense is bigger than Fidelity zero fund's Yield minus expense. VOO: 1.34% – 0.03% = 1.31%. FZROX: 1.10% – 0.00 = 1.10%. Obviously, 1.31% > 1.10%. What am I not getting?

You guys get some super cheap funds in the US! I think our cheapest is around 0.06% to get access to the S&P from here in the UK. Nice find on that fund – expenses are such a key thing to keep under control!
