And all this failure left me depressed and not knowing what to do.
I had become numb to life.
Luckily, I kept going and pushing and eventually found success.
After 9 failed businesses I finally started a business that made real money.

In my English class, we were tasked with researching and analyzing the stories of failed businesses and identifying what lessons could be learned from their mistakes. One particular case that caught my attention was the story of a company that managed to burn through a whopping 4.6 million dollars before ultimately shutting their doors for good.
The company in question was a tech startup that claimed to have a revolutionary new app that would revolutionize the way people interact with their smartphones. They were able to secure significant investment funds from venture capitalists and angel investors, with high hopes for their product to disrupt the market. However, despite all the initial excitement and hype surrounding their launch, the company quickly began to hit roadblocks.
One of the key reasons for the company’s failure was their lack of a clear and viable business model. While they had a great idea and an innovative product, they failed to effectively monetize it and generate revenue. As a result, they burned through their funds at an alarming rate without seeing any return on their investment.
Another critical mistake that the company made was their failure to adequately market and promote their product. They relied solely on word-of-mouth and social media buzz to generate interest in their app, neglecting traditional marketing channels and strategies. As a result, they struggled to attract a significant user base and failed to capitalize on their potential market.
Furthermore, the company also faced internal challenges, including poor leadership and management decisions. Key executives were unable to effectively steer the ship and make crucial decisions that could have potentially saved the company from its inevitable demise. As a result, the company lacked direction and vision, leading to their downfall.
In reflecting on the story of this failed business, I learned several valuable lessons that can be applied to any entrepreneurial endeavor. Firstly, having a solid and viable business model is essential for long-term success. Without a clear plan for generating revenue and profitability, even the most groundbreaking idea can quickly fizzle out.
Secondly, effective marketing and promotion are crucial for building brand awareness and attracting customers. It’s important to utilize a mix of online and offline channels to reach a wide audience and create buzz around your product or service.
Lastly, strong leadership and management are critical for guiding a company through the ups and downs of the business world. Having a team of experienced and capable leaders can make all the difference in steering a company towards success.
Overall, the story of this failed business serves as a cautionary tale for aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners. By learning from their mistakes and avoiding common pitfalls, one can increase their chances of building a successful and sustainable business.

Great video Tariq! I’m sure your story will resonate with many and likely get some people across the finish line. Keep doing what you’re doing! -Juan
Thank you for sharing
I definitely resonate with not feeling that I’m ready or prepared to be an entrepreneur. I know I have everything I need to be successful and had success in the past, but it’s been a journey trying to iron out why I’m not taking more action.
Great video. I've had a very similar journey and can relate. I've been stuck in a corporate job and know I can do better. I've tried many of the same things you did and failed miserably! I would love to buy a franchise and am currently trying to get approved for a HELOC. Hopefully that works out and I can get my first win too!
You sound like my story except im gay for real. And an east Coaster. But awesome job that you continued after setbacks.
