Have FOOTWORK Like WONDERBOY With These Drills!

Footwork is one of the most important aspects of martial arts, and it can make all the difference in a fight. If you want to move like a champion and have footwork like Wonderboy, then check out these footwork drills!

Drill #1: Ladder Drill

The ladder drill is a classic footwork drill that will help you improve your agility and coordination. To do this drill, lay out a ladder on the ground, and then quickly move your feet in and out of each square. Start slowly and then gradually pick up speed until you can move through the ladder quickly without making any mistakes.

Drill #2: Shadowboxing

Shadowboxing is a great way to practice your footwork and work on your technique. Start by moving around the room, throwing punches and kicks as if you’re fighting an opponent. Be sure to focus on your footwork and make sure that you’re not telegraphing your moves.

Drill #3: Cone Drill

The cone drill is similar to the ladder drill, but instead of moving your feet in and out of squares, you’ll move around cones. Set up a series of cones in a pattern, and then quickly move around them without knocking them over. This drill will help you improve your footwork and maneuverability.

Drill #4: Jumping Drill

The jumping drill is a great way to improve your explosive power and speed. Start by jumping forward and backward, side to side, and diagonally. This drill will help you improve your footwork and coordination, and it will also help you build up your leg muscles.

Drill #5: Agility Ladder Drill

The agility ladder drill is similar to the ladder drill, but instead of just moving your feet in and out of squares, you’ll also shuffle and hop through the ladder. This drill will help you improve your footwork and agility, and it will also challenge your balance.

By incorporating these drills into your training routine, you can improve your footwork and become a better fighter. Remember to start slow and work on your technique first, and then gradually increase your speed and intensity. With practice, you’ll be moving like Wonderboy in no time!

Fight specific footwork drills, and can be followed and ended with a strike.
    4:04 in&out hops in stance
5:02 in&out hops then switch stance
6:11 in hop while switching stance then out hop in new stance (Great to follow and end with a strike as shown in demo)

On your double shuffle switch there was a a telegraph of the back hand dropping before you switch when at full speed. When you do the t slow it stays under but the faster you go the hand drops early.

I love how your footwork reminds me of my Ed Parker American Kenpo background. I’m well aware of how Mr. Thompson pulls from many Kenpo, Karate, Jujitsu, and kickboxing arts to create the art y’all study at Upstate Karate. It’s just truly fascinating to see other Kenpoist style of footwork being used at the highest level of combat sports. Thank you Wonderboy for making this video❤️

Now that you're 40 have you considered footwork that isn't based on bouncing and leaping?

I'm 46 and I'm telling you 45 is coming. Maybe consider it. You don't have to do it to consider it.
