Surprising your spouse with a gift is a great way to show them how much you care. But if you’re trying to keep the gift a surprise, it can be tricky. Here are some tips to help you keep your spouse’s gift a secret until the big reveal.

1. Plan Ahead: To keep your spouse’s gift a surprise, you’ll need to plan ahead. Think about when you’re going to give the gift, and make sure you have enough time to purchase and wrap it without your spouse seeing.

2. Hide the Gift: If you’re living with your spouse, it can be tricky to keep the gift a secret. Try to find a place to hide it where they won’t find it. If you can’t think of a good hiding spot, you may want to consider asking a friend or family member to keep it for you until you’re ready to give it.

3. Don’t Talk About It: If you’re trying to keep the gift a secret, it’s important to avoid talking about it. If your spouse asks what you’re getting them, try to avoid giving too much away.

4. Be Creative: If you’re giving your spouse a physical gift, try to be creative with the way you present it. Wrap it in an unexpected way or put it in a box with a fun surprise inside.

5. Make It Special: The best way to keep your spouse’s gift a surprise is to make it special. Think about something that your spouse would really appreciate and put some thought into it.

We have 5 chequing accounts (hubby, me, bills, general savings, house savings)
This helps at X-mas/birthdays!! We have 100-150 bucks a month each put in each of our own accounts for leisure spending. Any overtime money goes in there too or in the house savings account (for extra payments on the house and repairs)

Ive maintained a credit card for 18 years just for this purpose, Christmas and birthday gifts for my wife. The billing statement comes in the mail after the event, and she knows not to open my credit card statement anyway.

My wife just took cash out at the ATM for my Christmas gift. She withdrew more than she was going to spend on me, and then used the extra cash for other things (like groceries or other Christmas gifts). We did talk about how much we were going to spend, but this way I don't know the exact amount per transaction.

My wife and I each have our own debt cards that spending money goes into each week. She buys gifts for me on hers and I buy gifts for her on mine. Been doing this for years. Works great.
