So your cash flow from monthly rent goes into the stock market?

I am interested in establishing a checkbook LLC with IRA Financial. A question: you mentioned that you can enjoy the properties within self directed IRA after age of 59 and 1/2. Does it mean that you can use the properties without liquidating? SInce the properties are in IRA account, you would need to pay income tax for the benefit you gain by "use" of properties? Or you need to liquidate the properties to cash out from IRA account? How doe that work?

Thank you for the info/insight. I researched Self-Directed IRAs extensively last year and went with an Individual 401k (Self-Directed via the LLC I established). The advantage of the individual 401k is that it also allows leverage (borrowing) up to ½ or 50,000., whichever is greater. Either way, as we already know, it’s very important to do the research based on individual circumstances. Thanks again for sharing.

Richard, great location. People who golf at that place don 't golf less or go on fewer vacations if there is a drop in the economy. Would you consider that a prime consideration in vacation rentals? Choose a location that supports occupancy no matter what the economy does. Choose a location that is frequented by guests who have lots of discretionary income for a hobby, golf, that is played by people or groups that have money.

Richard: I have been digging your videos and your positive perspective. You've really educated and encouraged my wife and I to get into STR in an engaged and rewarding manner. I tend to follow your STR advice. BUT….this investment vehicle is totally inappropriate for most of your viewers IMO. In fact it could get them into serious and lasting financial trouble. The kind of trouble where one finds oneself insolvent in late middle age, without enough time to recover financially. I have seen this firsthand. Agree that stocks should soon correct, and agree that the lower debt/equity ratio on real estate (or anything) the better. DON'T agree that people should use their IRA (or their existing home equity for that matter) as a piggy bank to buy rental real estate. Discretionary travel to resort locations is the first thing to plunge in a recession BTW. I hope this investment works out favorably for you.
