ROTH IRAs are a great way to save for retirement, but how much is in your ROTH IRA after investing for 11 years? It all depends on how much you’ve invested and the rate of return you’ve earned. Here are three keys to success when it comes to investing in a ROTH IRA:

1. Start Early: The earlier you start investing in a ROTH IRA, the more time your money has to grow. The power of compounding interest can help your money grow exponentially over the years. So, if you started investing in your ROTH IRA 11 years ago, you’ve likely seen significant growth in your retirement savings.

2. Invest Wisely: Investing wisely is key to success in any retirement savings plan. Make sure to diversify your investments and choose a mix of stocks, bonds, and other investments that are appropriate for your risk tolerance. Also, consider investing in low-cost index funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) to keep your costs down.

3. Make Regular Contributions: Making regular contributions to your ROTH IRA is a great way to ensure your money is growing. Consider setting up an automatic contribution plan so you don’t have to worry about manually investing each month.

By following these three keys to success, you can maximize the amount of money in your ROTH IRA after 11 years of investing. With the right strategy and a bit of patience, you can build a healthy retirement nest egg.

Thinking of moving away from M1 and paying their hefty exit fee. Lack of DRIP on individual stocks, and I find it tricky to liquidate a few under performers without the proceeds being reinvested in the rest of the pie. Add pies within pies and it gets confusing, to me at least. They also want a copy of my passport to change my email address because they don't like my protonmail address for whatever reason. So its costing them a fortune to mail me paper prospectuses etc. Lastly, because I use a privacy browser (Brave) I get constant captcha (sp?) challenges requiring me to click of stupid traffic lights, buses, crosswalks etc just to log on. Their response – use Chrome, umm, no thanks. Also get way too many spam promo messages from them. I dunno, I prefer the predictability and professionalism of Etrade, TD or Fidelity.

I opened mine in 2011 and I have 114k with about 29k contribution. I mostly invested in stocks adopting the long and hold strategy. I held some mutual funds over the years but sold them 2020. My 401k at the time can only be invested in mutual funds, bonds, money market, etc. and averaged about 8% but my Roth which I put on stocks I liked (company's I know with products I'm familiar with) did so much better so I kept with my strategy and has worked out really well for me. Even if I don't contribute anymore at this point, I will have 1M at 62. To me, Roth was where I first took risks and had fun investing.
