Any thoughts on using offshore bank accounts for their higher interest rates when trying to save money short-term for a future purchase? Rates appear to average between 3-6% annually. Thanks for any insight.

Hey guys, I have a question. For example, if I invest $10K into my retirement account (20 year horizon) and then it drops to $5K during a downturn, do I have to re-do all of my calculations using $5K as the starting point? Or do I still use $10K because market drops are already factored into average returns?

LOL @ 80 / 20, only if the 20 % is Bitcoin. The chances that bonds take a huge bath on rising interest rates means that even a savings account would be better, just to avoid interest rate shock. The only reason to hold cash now is because you need it, otherwise its better just to ride the market, if you have current income. The uncertainty in the world has never been higher.
