Big mistake: You have $1M to invest in traditional IRA (pre-tax) or $630K (after-tax) invest in Roth IRA with 37% tax bracket. The compound interest of $370K from the traditional IRS will outperform the Roth IRA even being taxes when withdrawing.

So if I have a simple IRA through work can I max that out per year as well as maxing my Roth IRA out per year as well? I can never find an answer to that

Bought 6k worth of AMC on my ROTH. Might just get millionaire Roth IRA status later this year

  7. The Neverending Highway

Is it better to invest that 6k right on January 1st (If you have it) so that you can benefit from more dividends and any growth throughout the whole year? Or is it better to just do monthly contributions throughout the year despite having 6k on Jan 1st?

Thank you for another great content! I have a question I am in my mid 40s and just opened a new ROTH IRA. This is what I came up with:

    VTI 50%

SCHD 15% (added for dividend purposes)
    VXUS 15%
REITs 10% (custom portfolio with about 1o reits)
    BND 10%

Please let me know what you think of this. Do I need SCHD/REITS? Allocation %? Thank you so much for all your videos!!!

If I don't plan on retirement for another 20 years, do I really need bonds? The return is so shit on them.

  17. Creole Penguin

Life isn't a race. I finally got an engineering degree at 31, now 35 paying off my debts. So it is what it is and I had a lot of insane fun in my 20s but man I wish I started investing earlier and not starting this year. Lol ah well whatever. Hoping the next 30 years will be enough to have a smooth retirement (or one at all), if not sooner lol

  18. Julian Potts

How often if at all should you reallocate funds within your Roth IRA?

  19. Iggidy Babii

Isn’t that a index fund? Vanguard? It clearly says index

  23. Matthew Doolittle

Hey thanks for this video. Because of this vid. I opened a roth ira on Feb. 14th, contributed a couple thousand and well you know…..market crash. At one point my $7,000 contributed(2019-2020) was down to nearly $4,700. I kept dollar cost averaging into companies/funds that I did my due dilligence on and fully believed in. On my birthday I was able to get some Tesla at 380(presplit) during March. Needless to say, my roth ira Is currently at a 100% + return in over 7 months.. Funds I have TSLA, NVDA, ARKK, VGT, SOXX, PTY, among others so thank you once again for this information!

  24. Melody Browser

i'm 27 can i still make it to the million dollars?

  25. TapoutTanK52

Started at 29. I’d give my left nut to be educated and start at least when I was 18

  26. Apophis PNW

Saying Roth IRA retirement account is like saying ASAP as possible

  27. Jermaine Bell

Thanks! Very informative.. I have a question? When you choose an ETF for your Roth Ira are you buying stock with the ETF you purchase? Or do you buy a few shares and just keep adding 5k p/year to get those return amounts when you return? I hope I'm explaining this correctly? Because at my age I can only put 5k p/year which is $500 p/month. So everytime I put $500 in, am I buying $500 worth of stock every month? Or just adding that money to the IRA?

  28. T Smith

    You broke this down perfectly

  29. Nathan H.

Can you open multiple roth IRAs if you want to invest more then allowed?

  30. Metal Bum

You didn’t mention that you can do a Roth 401k

  31. Ro

Starting way behind at 36. I'll have to max out my roth, and hit my my brokerage/ 401k account pretty heavy to hit that Million. I tell 20 year old all the time to get into investing. I wish I would have 16 years ago .

  32. Ricky AZ

No bonds in the Roth. Let it grow with the volatility.

  33. Jo So

Trash. Just trying to get affiliate commission. Don’t waste your time.
