Hey Brad, awesome video, I have a question, can I invest in VTSAX in both a roth ira and a brokerage account?

  3. Coach Yam yam

hi I tried putting my roth money and it says I will go over my contribution limit. I don't understand how to do this. can you please make a step by step video?

Hi Brad, great video! Many thanks for your how to set up process. Im interested in seeing how to set up automatic payments. Did you ever create a video explaining this process? I didn't see it in your library.

Great video! If I invest in VTSAX and don’t pull money from it until retirement, will I be taxed on it? Thanks!

If I already have 3,000 in my Roth, do I spend another 3,000 to buy Vtsax? Can I use the money in my Roth? Can I just add Vtsax to the Roth since 3,000 is in there?

Question: I've put my max into my Roth ira for 2021. It's currently in the settlement fund. Do I need to invest that by April for it to count as a contribution or can I leave it in the settlement account and make a decision at a later point?

Currently planning on going all-in on VTSAX but not sure if I should wait out the market with the current crisis although I understand trying to time the market is a bad idea.

I apologize in advance for my ignorance, but once you contribute your 6K into your IRA, you can then go and use 3K from that 6K and purchase VTSAX? Would you need to then add additional money into your IRA since youve spent half of it on the mutual funds?

  9. Wael Laith

Hi I see your video is 2 years old , is it still good to buy now? And I see that I can buy it from my E trade account or it's better to create and buy it from vanguard

  10. Cui Ping

Thank you so much for the information. It is so helpful to understand the settlement fund. But I have a question. Are there any settlement time difference between buy vtsax from the bank linked to vanguard and buy it from the settlement fund? I understand it will take about 2 business days for the bank transferring money to vtsax. How about settlement fund? two days too? Also, what will be the purchasing price if I buy vtsax directly from the bank? Will be the day's price I submitted the purchase request or two days later's price when the transaction is completely done? Thank you so much for your help.

I am definitely a novice, but have a question. Trying to learn. I have invested in a vanguard ETF through Fidelity. When I put monies into the settlement account, can I use it to purchase a single stock also, or is this just funds going toward ETF?

  12. Phuc Nguyen

I can’t buy VTSAX thru my account, any help? I’m with BofA

  13. Camino Avila

great video! very detailed and to the point. well then i guess i did it right, because my settlement fund shows $0 but the actual index shows my amount that i transferred over and what ive contributed.

Would this be recommended for beginner investors. I have 6k in my savings account but I've been wanting to invest in VTSAx but still a little nervous

  15. Kevin Perez

Is VTSAX a good fund to put in a taxable account or should I get an ETF instead?

  16. Charles

Great video Brad. I've been a Vanguard investor for almost 10 years and your video taught me things I had wondered about for years. I like how you explained everything in simple terms.

  17. Bradley Mikon

    Hey Brad,

Is Vanguard the only place I can buy VTSAX? I have a fidelity account and as far as I can tell, it seems like I can use that account to buy VTSAX. What am I missing?

  18. Demola Fadeyibi

Hello Brad. Thanks alot for the awesome videos. My question is; can I buy into VTSAX without my SSN? As I'm currently not yet a US resident.

  19. Ehsan Haque

Great video man. I opened my Roth IRA yesterday with Vanguard and bought VTSAX today ($3100). Did you ever make a video on how to automate (like $50/week or so to start). I know this video is almost two years old, haha.

  20. Me Be

I was completely lost. Im so glad to find you on my first day of opening the acct. I thought I was done investing when the money got transferred but you saved me. I was gonna end up with saving acct instead of investing. Thank You! Great help for beginner!!
