Thanks for making this video. I found this helpful. I would like to change the existing target-date fund selection in my old 403b to low-cost index funds. Should I just select the " current investment" -> exchange one investment? Also, as the market is down, is it better to do one transaction or multiple transactions? Any tax consequences? Thank you

Nice! I’ve been meaning to move on from my target date fund. I have a 90 stock/10 allocation but I don’t like that 33% of the stocks are international.

does it trigger any taxes when you change your 401K investments?

That first drop down menu wasn't showing on my home page but it wasn't too hard to find the "change investments" option. Fidelity doesn't make this apparent or easy by any stretch. Thanks for the vid – good stuff.

Thank you. I'm 60 this year and have been using target fund for 2025. The amount has increased very well since I started doing it in 2005. I am clueless on what I do and very lucky. I learned more with this video and another of yours today than in 16 years. I do max out my contribution. Thanks

100% stocks contributing to my companies match for 8 to 10 years is the plan.

One question though, how do you rebalance your 100% stocks? Can you make a video on that or is this a dumb question? I’m new to investing so be gentle.

This is sooooo helpful! Again, another great video for me to send folks to when they ask. Thanks for creating this! I think it's so easy to forget that people need the basics when you get deep into the world of personal finance, and this is such a needed video!

A big help! Thank you! My past employer used Fidelity, so I still have funds in there which this vid and info allowed me to manipulate and move. My new(er) employer invests in Vanguard, but I'm sure this info will help me to navigate on their website as well. Thanks again!

Thanks you very much for making a such helpful video. Could you explain about the percentage (VANG INST INDEX PLUS with 8.19%)? why some has negative percentage (for example, JH DSCPL VAL MDCP with -0.38%) ?

  35. MrDg2400

Am I able to change on how aggressively I would like to invest my 401k??

  36. Justin V. Conroy - Financial Dad

Wish I would have had a video like this to watch when I got started. Also, fun fact – I work as a manager during my day job so I have a little bit of visibility when it comes to what folks are doing with their company benefits (not details but enough to make some conclusions after a lot of years of watching the patterns of costs changes). I can tell that about half of our folks have never even opened their accounts. Of the ones that haven't only another half or so have actually changed anything or invested more than the match. It is incredible to me how lax most folks are about these subjects. Thanks for the video!
