My name is David Pere, I am an active duty Marine, and have realized that service members and the working class use the phrase “I don’t get paid enough” entirely too often. The reality is that most often our financial situation is self-inflicted. After having success with real estate investing, I started From Military to Millionaire to teach personal finance and real estate investing to service members and the working class. As a result, I have helped many of my readers increase their savings gap, and increase their chances of achieving financial freedom!

Hi, can you please link me to that facebook group? I will be in my 50s after my 20 years are up(I plan on staying in. I had no career way too late in my life and I don't want to start anything over). I'm way behind everyone else. I'm putting 6% into the roth TSP 90% C 10% S. I knew nothing about stocks or IRA accounts before joining. Luckily tons of these guys are super into stocks. ENough so that they know the basics. The C fund is a mutual fund which is basically an ETF but through a retirement account. That's my understanding. So if I'm investing in the C and S fund now would be a good time to go 100% into C since the s&p 500 is down, right. I'm all over the place with this, could you please link to that facebook group lol

Can we get a $10,000 TSP Loan Forgiveness, for those of us who earn less than $100,000 per year? Inflation is effecting our cost of living which makes paying back this loan a burden.

    Direct and honest TSP advice!

  4. Anonymous Leprechaun

Hey Dave, what did you invest in the TSP to make 44% return

  5. AxelQC

6 months later, the market is down 20%.

  6. April Brown

Please tell me exactly how you were able to max out your TSP.
How did you figure out the percentage/ fixed amount you needed to contribute?
I’m a veteran now working for the federal government so I get a 5% contribution matching.

Currently a SSgt and about to turn 30. I just now elected to start putting into TSP at 5% with the Marine Corps' matching 5%. Should I leave it as is, or put more in to try to play catch up?

Check the Fund performances every evening at 8pm at TSPFolio. Then, make your decision for which fund you should be in. Why would one invest in a fund that 1.5% return when there are funds which yield 16? The G Fund numbers never go down; but, the value goes down. Example, in 2000 hamburgers were $.50, now, the same hamburger is $4.

Hey man I’ve been watching your videos for awhile I’m in active duty Air Force and am trying to buy my first house in the next 4 months any advice by the way I’m 18

  10. Marie Hodge

I am trying to allocate out of G Fund but I am 74 yrs old and not sure what to invest in

  11. Trygr_Tygr77

just switched my funds around for the first time after 4 years from 100% G fund to 10% L 2055, 70% C fund and 20% S fund. Roth TSP 10% for now and everything else 62%, Traditional TSP 0% across the board.

had it first set up as traditional TSP base 1% and Roth 9% but after watching this, i feel more confident with the Roth TSP

  12. Aiad Jurjis

Good stuff. I agree on your allocation..but I do a little more on the I Fund.

  13. Emmanuel Vasquez

Can you still invest into your TSP account after you get out the military? I recently got out the Marine Corps and I still want to invest into my account. Thanks for the content brother

  14. CIPHER PRODUCTION

Going to the airforce, understand everything, only thing is. Do you have to be married or have dependents to get bah? Or can you move out single and get it

  15. Brandy Cosgrove

So I have NO clue how to move money from L to C or S funds. I don’t see options for that anywhere on TSP or My Pay. Can I get some help??! Please? Lol

  16. Bobby Reynolds

Hey I'm in that group on Facebook for the TSP plan. I'm not too fond of the idea of putting 20% in the seafund and 80% in the S fund. So I actually switched to 50% C and 50% S. I noticed you said you're doing 75% C and 25% S. Do you think 75% 20% is a better split than 50/50?

  17. Sylvester S

Hey Dave, with the changes in the market currently is it safe to say you havent deviated from the S and C fund?

  18. bob

Hey Dave, I just got into the Military and I love all your videos thus far… I’m having trouble setting up my TSP? Is there any way you could do a video? All new Service members are so confused. Like can you just use your TSP from My Pay or is it an entire other program? Anyways if you can you should do a setup video because literally all of the new Airmen at my tech school have no idea how to even get started…

  19. XxKillShot95xX

Great video. I have a question. Would it be a great idea to rent a room instead of getting a place of my own to pocket half of the bah? I currently get $1757 a month but stay on post. Just want to make sure it would be the right move.

New subscriber here. What are you planning to do with your TSP now that have retired from the military? Are you gonna roll it over?
