when you fix things, that part is up by inflation. it not cheap now it was, say 1 year ago( i think you miss explaining that) as it's gone up by 6% as stats say but inflation is more like 10-11%. I wouldn't look at someone stats for the rate of inflation, each person inflation is different, depending what they need in life. but good video.

Thank you beat your bush. I have learned so much from your podcast. I had a bank mutual fund which it grew this year. I invested 2 years ago when you started about 30k that money doubled 36k.. thank you. I plan to invest more whichI am 50 something and never saved for retirement. I plan to use vanguard which I will transfer my money from bank mutal fund…. Do, you have info on vanguard?

I'm dealing with inflation by choosing cheaper alternatives. I bought a used electric car and fuel it at free public charging stations like Volta. Avoiding gasoline is saving me tons of money. As a carnivore I'm eating just pork and chicken which are much cheaper than beef which is VERY overpriced now. Avoiding expensive fruits and vegetables saves me money and has improved my health dramatically as my carb intake is close to ZERO!

When I travel, I see that I am so blessed and have more than enough stuff to last me a lifetime.

  10. PDB Long

No reason to stop travel because of the bug; most countries south of the border are wide open as well as certain part of eastern EU. The most wasteful thing is to live in fear!

  11. Timur Bazaroff

Electric car?? Yes, pay 20000 more, pay extra on maintenance, buy new batteries each 10 years, burn your time at charging stations

I think these ideas are smart. Let go of what you can, save, invest but remember to treat yourself too so you don't feel like you are constantly working with no pay off. It comes down to just being sensible… really. Treat yourself like your own best friend and respect yourself the same way. You don't want to be the richest man in the grave yard and by the same token there is no need to blow everything you work for and find yourself in the street begging. Moderation is the key. A good life lesson……

If you save 6.8% of your income on top of what is normal. Does this curb inflation? With hard times coming I think I may be forced to live like beatthebush

Gas is up over last year of course, we were all at home last year. Should they use 2020 as a base for comparison?

  18. 1sexysportsfan

Do we really count inflation based on 2020?

  19. Elizabeth Lau

I was told that shipping from China went up 800%.

  20. Elizabeth Lau

The drastic cost of shipping from overseas has to do with it.

Is inflation typically good or bad for homeowners? Let’s say someone just took on a new mortgage this year at 3.2% fixed. They’re technically borrowing at below the value that dollars lose each year. And inflation would drive the price of their home up right? So that’s a good place to put your money?

  31. Ken Kub

From my understanding the maximum amount that can be purchased under the TIPS program is $10,000.00.

  32. zhang0605

You can’t escape inflation. Death and funeral related also went up like 45%

  33. Andre M

WOW! This guy is extremely frugal…I LOVE IT!

  34. Gerard Jachymiak

So what your saying is in order to avoid inflation you need to be miserable and not buy anything

  35. Manny

    More like 15%

  36. Travious Andrews

Do you have to say this video isn't sponsored by something? I notice a lot of YouTubers say that

  37. Sky Ryder

    Real inflation is 10.1%

  38. Travious Andrews

Inflation is way over 6.8. the government rigged it a few decades ago. It's actually like 15% there's a website called shadow stats that shows the real info!

  39. Travious Andrews

Metal, commodities, and crypto. No other investment beats inflation!!

  40. Super Surr

Long time subscriber here (when you had 10k subs or so) love your vids as always, I agree with 90% of what you said here but the ending really made me think that if someone was to follow everything you said, it’s a life not really worth living. Penny pinching is a means to an end, no one wants to be the richest man in the graveyard. Your heirs won’t appreciate your money like you do so enjoy it, live within your means.

  41. Power Surge

The trick to beating inflation is to use self check out and “forget “ to scan the most expensive items haha

  42. Abhijith Arakali

How do you protect against inflation? Buy put options of TLT! Simple :). BTW you are trying to beat inflation by avoiding meat? Dude … you are worth more than $2M!! 🙂
