1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil.

Proverbs 30:8-9 Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the Lord?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.

Ecclesiastes 8:19 So I commend the enjoyment of life, because there is nothing better for a person under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany them in their toil all the days of the life God has given them under the sun.

Got a little confused so since it's 403b it needs to be rolled into a roth ira? Since I read 403b is for non profits is it already taxed or has its own tax rules?

  2. Jackie NY

helpful for sure! i'm planning on rolling over at age 55. looking forward to a better investment than the 403b has been, or notbeen as the case may be

Is it possible to roll over my deceased parent 403 into my 457?

  4. Yg Bodybuilder

Hey I'm the beneficiary of parent 403b. I was planning on taking the lump sum and of course paying taxes, but I seen they was giving me the option of rolling it over to a ira and such which would advoid fees and taxes,

What are you guys opinion on which route I should go?

  5. Ashley Jiron

I had a 403b retirement account with TransAmerica with my employer and I requested to move the funds to my Fidelity ROTH IRA after I left my company. I requested the required federal and state income tax deducted from the amount, but they ended up moving ALL of the funds with no deductions. Does this mean I don't have to pay taxes or I'll have to pay once I do my income tax?

  6. Heather Hirschi

Wow, thanks so much for sharing this! I'm in the middle of the same process.

  7. Living Unashamed

Please tell me you can just do all of this online? Seems like a long process. I plan to rollover my trad 401k to a trad IRA once I leave my company.

I was wondering if you can you do a roth 403b rollover if you are still with the same employer and under the age of 59?

  9. Ed C

Very helpful and informative, Adrienne…. Hope your portfolio is holding up with all this market volatility!.. I am gonna save this one for future reference.. Glad to see you back, girl.

After rolling over, can you do dollar cost averaging or do you have to buy immediately with all the cash?

  11. Geovanni Rivera

I had VOYA from my first employer that sponsor a 401K. Long story short, they notify me that I had money sitting with them from 6 years ago. I did go through hoops and loops for 4 months. One was to show them my letter that I had money with them. The other was change of address. Long story short, it’s best to have all your accounts in one place. It’s less hassle overall.

  12. Robert Clarkson

I have investments in same account too. Easier to maintain. Also, I prefer my financial institution over the employer's. Options are better.
