Must be false since I just unsubbed a few days ago.

Any service with tiered plans, gives a company a wide berth to fuck with the numbers. If there was a fixed price for the service you could easily derive a good estimate for the subscriptions from their revenue. Now that they have ads, you can assume they will pump up their subs if they can get away with it, so they can charge more for advertising.

Also their advertising revenue will give them even more slack to fuck with the numbers. Every additional revenue stream potentially removes transparency from their balance sheet.

  3. Filteredimage

So 15% of the people who were sharing someone else’s credentials actually got their own account and now subscriber numbers are “booming”?

  4. BigKat55

All it took was a film that promised to show Ana De Armas boobies.

  5. likelysuspect2021

Well, I have no idea what’s happening but I bought 200 shares yesterday and am feeling pretty good about it right now.

  6. Any_Foundation_9034

    I agree!

But the investors like the bullshit news.

  7. Ccs002

It’s probably all the boomers getting “Netflix on us” from their phone companies, which… does that even equal a subscription?

  8. MadHatterBrainmatter

Ya , they don’t have much of any guidance or outlook . Seems sus.

  9. Extremely-Bad-Idea

Netflix has cracked down on account sharing. This has forced former freeloaders to pay for legit new accounts. Netflix strategy is working as planned. No surprise here.

  10. Sandvicheater

New cheaper ad based subscription + having hit shows this quarter (stranger things + dahmer) yeah even NFLX gets a big W once in a while

  11. AzimuthAztronaut

I did buy a put today.

  12. Stunning-Trade8869

There is a new subscription plan, I think you pay half the price for half the shows… maybe that’s the increase in subs

  13. 555-Rally

For Netflix ad-supported service….why wouldn’t you sign up and then never watch a thing for free.

It is going to bump their subscriber services, it’s not going to do nearly that much for their bottom line.

  14. petewsop

Superstupid posters arent used to a company that ever has positive results

  15. DrushQ4

    I kinda get it.
Disney+ – once you’ve seen most marvel movies, what more is there?
HBO – Last ep of the season for Jersey Shore meets the 1000 century with dragons. after that, meh. (Also, terrible app/website)
Prime, also meh now that Rings of Power is over.

Netflix is the one thing I always keep running – rest I cancel on a frequent basis because I can rewatch a lot on Netflix. Bu that’s just me

  16. SupraMichou

Growth estimation was fucking – 20% in my book, not that hard to beat

  17. cagri_yildiz

Could be pre-arranged news, this kind of news can be done with a single phone call from ceo, I don’t know if they actually did it but it is very suspicious especially everyone keeps criticizing and unsubbing.

  18. Stonks1337

NFLX can’t exist with AMZN AWS. Seriously, AMZN could pull a plug on em anytime. Same way how apple did META with advertising AMZN has power to do that to NFLX

  19. Slut_Spoiler

    No.

They just don’t want to put the headline of “Netflix will fuck over subscribers by having ads constantly and sucking out the little enjoyment you have left in your life”
