I caught that subtle shot about why there's not enough natural gas. You were overly polite about it. Politicians and environmentalists should be called to task, for their nutty blocking of NG pipelines which could provide relatively clean and affordable energy to people. Does affordable efficient electrical heating for homes even exist? If it does, I'd be interested to hear about it.

Thanks for the show, Josh. There's not much I dislike more, ruining our scenic nature view, than wind turbines. We have them all over, in North Central, Illinois. I'm actually scheduled to attend a dog & pony show about a proposed solar panel installation about 2 miles from us, next Tuesday evening. If they put those darned wind turbines in close to me, I'll be madder'n a wet cat. They're already so close that I can see the blinking lights after dark; they look like a bunch of alien spacecraft landing. I've heard the crop dusters won't fly anywhere near them.

iirc, The KING Pine site is out in the boonies on private logging roads. It's a (at least) ten year old project that never went anywhere. Noise abatement was never an issue, except for those unfamiliar with the project and want to introduce liberal-style talking points.
Maine citizens should try to remember what happened to the slowed logging industry and biomass generators in Washington County when Massachusetts stabbed them in the back in 2015/2016.

I live in Connecticut. Our electric supply rate doubled Jan. 1. The state electric power plants that run on natural gas have to shut down in the winter because we don't have enough supply coming into the state. We have to fire up our old oil fired units. Yea us…

In Cleveland Ohio we has a few wind power turbines.
Almost every time when I drive by they are not spinning.
It does not matter what the nameplate capacity is what matters is what it produces.
I think the best that you can expect is 35% of the nameplate.

mainers are do dumb we keep electing angus king just because he claims to be "independent." there is not an independent thought ever crossed that jerks mind, but mainers buy it hook line and sinker. we had a great governor for two terms who never locked us down, payed down our debts and built rainy day fund. our people just supposedly "selected" a big ESG commie over this guy with proven track record. anytime they want to change something they just referendum us with crossed up words until they get what they want. we are one of the commies easiest targets.

When I bought my house, it had electric base board heating. Folks said I'd be paying through the nose. A few years ago, a buddy of mine put me in touch with a solar panel company, where I lease the panels for five years at a time. Bottom line, I saved five thousand dollars my first year. I pay the utility ten bucks a month and that's it. Haven't looked back since with the sky rocketing utility companies.

It is not the ignorance of the population, it is the irresponsible government that make most people ask , can I retire?
