Inflation Continues to Sky Rocket: How Warren Buffett Says You Should be Investing

How should you be investing during inflation? Warren Buffett has had more than his fair share of inflation during his lifetime. Conventional wisdom says that the best inflation investments are investments such as gold, real estate, and commodities. Buffett talks about how the best protection against inflation is a business like See’s Candies; a business that has pricing power and requires relatively little assets to operate. Warren Buffett’s inflation protection is an “asset light” business

This means the stocks to buy for inflation would be companies that typically aren’t thought of as inflation stocks. Investing for inflation can be difficult but this video should help make you better understand how to invest when there is inflation.

Doesn't the math in your example work ONLY because Buffett was willing to pay 3x the value? If he wasn't interested in See's and the only other offer was 1.2x value, then you saying See's was now worth $48M wouldn't be right: it would be ~$19M. Since the math relies on someone else's subjective valuation of a company, how will that help me make an evaluation?

protect from inflation, buy stocks … buy stocks with high ROA etc…. it's all nice and promising .. till the moment the current stock market SUPER bubble bursts … and loose much more money than what inflation could damage in recent years …

Buffet's dark side showed in this video. He says he drinks 3 cokes a day to promote his company Coca-Cola even though his company is for a large part responsible for the diabetes epidemic we see across the world and even with our most precious asset, our children. See the can of Coke. Charley does not play this evil game as well as Buffet.
Sorry for my soapbox, but this hipocracy really bugs me. I do love this channel – so please keep up the good work!

When covid first started my mom went into See's Candy like she normally does and this lady there was super sick. She was sneezing all over the chocolates so much so that my mom actually left for the first time and never went back. Regardless of your stance on covid this is disgusting and the fact that the workers feel the need to come in even while sick means See's must not be that great of a company anymore.

If you invest in high price stock. You are looking for to buy the same stock by low price. Or the company need to expanse and they more buy and hold investors. Or the economy that have more peoples earn they did buy more stock with term and they do not need monies right away.

Be careful everyone. Trying to predict the future and then protect yourself against it can cause you to make bad moves. My advice is if your strategies that have been working and it's something you have faith in, just keep doing it.

Best takeaway from this, and I think may have gone unmentioned, is to have enough of a cash reserve to be able to buy into inflationary hedges. If you don't have that level of flexibility, then you'll be screwed to adjust to inflation, or take advantage of bull runs, too.

So Buffet is just making money just to make money. Really need it but focused on dominating the game. That's good for other people???
