    Inflation can be either cost push or demand pull. Demand-pull inflation usually indicates strong economic growth, meaning economy is doing well so stock more likely to go up. Cost-push inflation usually indicates that there is negative economic growth and thus stock price falls.

    Inflation just one of excuse to explain mkt but no direct relationship…inflation always a lag indicator.

    if u suay suay bought at the top in 1929 hor, DJ took 29 years to return to its high. then hor if u suay suay bought bought in 2000, NASDAQ took 16 years to return to its high. These are indices, some stocks never came back at all. if u dont time the market, then u pray u are not retiring at those tops. how many of us have another 16 years or 29 years to wait it out?

    True corporate profits drive stock prices after all we are buying companies not lottery tickets,you can try buying when market is below corporate profits but best is don't time the market, still need to look at ratio a bit though
