Investing in High Inflation, Crashing Stocks, Fed Rate Hike – Stocks Are The WORST Thing To Own?

Stocks are being called the “Worst Thing” to own right now.

News in the economy continues to look bleaker as we head towards the end of 2022.

Upon rising inflation news, stocks have plummeted more than 1000 points.
The real estate market could collapse as well, as the Fed must drive housing prices down to tame inflation
And analysts are saying that the bond market is facing it’s worst bear market in history.

Current economic events are re-writing the investment rule book.
traditional investors have historically relied on stocks, bonds, and real estate in order to have a well diversified portfolio, in a post pandemic world we see that all three asset classes are suffering major shakeups and losses.

With Monday’s CPI numbers coming out at 8.3% inflation, the dow dropped nearly 1300 points, suffering it’s worst day in 2 years.
For the year the indexes are down between 15 and 25%, entering into bear market territory.

With inflation sticking around higher than expected, the FED has announced an aggressive policy moving forward. Jerome Powell has stated that there will be significant pain in the markets for americans and investors need to prepare. meaning we could see a full point rate hike in September and continuing on into 2023. It’s likely that inflation will remain high for the next 2-3 years.

Investors still relying on the stock market should be prepared and willing to wait around for the next 10-12 years before seeing current valuations return.

Stock underperformance and bear markets are to be seen as opportunities to buy and sit tight watching your investment reap returns. Instead, panic and insecurity cause many to sell thus losing out on the markets, grit, patience and resilience and virtues.
